This is what I did to solve my problem: I did verify that I do have the Hive JDBC connector installed in my cluster I modified the following settings in hive-site.xml correctly depending on my local settings:
nodes cluster of hadoop 1.0.4, and I’m trying making hive 0.90.0works with it, http://grokbase.com/t/hive/user/12btx5g0cq/jdofatalinternalexception-error-creating-transactional-connection-factory so far no good. I was following the https://qnalist.com/questions/162918/trouble-using-mysql-metastore instructions listed herehttps://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/Hive/GettingStarted, but whentrying to run any command in the shell, I’m getting:FAILED: Error in metadata: javax.jdo.JDOFatalInternalException: Errorcreating transactional connection factoryNestedThrowables:java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetExceptionFAILED: Execution Error, return code 1 fromorg.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.exec.DDLTaskI didn’t change the default hive configuration, failed to so I guess its working withderby as metastore, and derby jar found in lib.Can you please suggest ways to troubleshot this issue? Thanks. reply Tweet Search Discussions Search All Groups user Related Discussions connection error Hive in Read Only Mode Hive connecting to failed to get squirrel on windows problem with jdbc connection Hive connection issues on CDH3b3 Windows JDBC Connection to Hive hive-0.6 don't connection mysql in metastore Hive on local client gets connection refused error when trying to run a job on ec2 cluster CachedRowSetImpl error Connection Refused error on using hive on Amazon EC2 cluster Discussion Navigation viewthread | post Discussion Overview groupuser @ Notice: Undefined variable: pl_domain_short in /home/whirl/sites/grokbase/root/www/public_html__www/cc/flow/tpc.main.php on line 1605 categorieshive, hadoop postedNov 26, '12 at 9:23p activeNov 26, '12 at 9:23p posts1 users1 websitehive.apache.org Preferences responses expanded Hotkey:s font variable Hotkey:f user style avatars Hotkey:a 1 user in discussion Barak Yaish (1) Content Home Groups & Organizations People Users Badges Support Welcome FAQ Contact Us Translate site design / logo © 2016 Grokbase
