the conditions under which the problem occurs. For example, was the error a one-time problem, or can it be reproduced consistently when printing or exporting all documents, some documents, or a specific document? The steps and tests below help you define how and when your issue occurs so that you can find a solution. 1. Restart your computer. If indesign not exporting pdf correctly the error doesn't recur, a temporary communication problem, low system resources, or other temporary environmental factors could have caused it. If you can print or export without problems after you first restart the computer, but the error occurs again later, troubleshoot the problem at the system level. 2. Turn your printer off and on. I've also downloaded the patch https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/troubleshoot-printing-pdf-export-indesign.html so that it's version 7.03.When I try to export to pdf, I get an error that says: 1 problem was found with a background task: Failed to export an eps item on page A.I get the same error when I try to export any file at all.Anyone know why this is happening? It worked fine in CS4.Appreciate any advice. I have the same question Show 2 https://forums.adobe.com/thread/755238 Likes(2) 23102Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Books export to PDF in the foreground, so this should tell us if the problem is in the background task itself, or something else.If it's happening with all files, my instinct is it is either corrupt preferences, a conflict with some other software, or a damaged instalation of ID. I think som Firefox plugins have been implicated in odd behavior in ID, and of course third party ID plugins are always suspect. Try cloing all other apps and see if it makes a difference, and deactvate any optional plugins, including any font auto-activation. If that doesn't work, the next thing I would try is Replace Your Preferences, followed by a reinstall as a last resort.Have you ever been able to use the background export? Can you export to .idml instead? What's the OS? Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. Re: Indesign won't export to pdf gwh

Toggle Tagged PDF On and Off Bob Levine June 20, 2008 Tweet 24 CommentsShare This Tweet http://indesignsecrets.com/pdf-export-problems-toggle-tagged-pdf-on-and-off.php This Article Share on Facebook Email This Article Share on Google+ Pin This Article In the last few days I've been playing around some the interactive features of InDesign. I created a few buttons with effects and text and because there's https://www.reddit.com/r/indesign/comments/3gz4ez/cannot_export_to_pdf_or_print_file/ no way to test these features within InDesign, I attempted to export a PDF with all of the appropriate settings: Acrobat 6 compatibility, Include Interactive Elements and Embed all Multimedia Content. The result was nothing. No PDF and no error message failed to generated. Generally, I enjoy a good mystery, but this one had me baffled. After some testing and conferring with a few other folks, it became apparent that the combination of text and the bevel/emboss effect on the button was causing the issue. Sure enough, converting the text to outlines or getting rid of the effect resulting in a successful PDF export. When I posted this information on the User to User forum, I was directed to a thread that discussed this issue. It failed to export turns out that the "fix" for this is toggle the Create Tagged PDF setting to whatever it wasn't set to. I had it off so I enabled it and sure enough, the PDF exported successfully with text and effects on the button. This reminded me of an older issue with PDFs suffering from what I like to refer to as "bunched text syndrome" where a section of text is all pushed into a small area. The toggle trick usually works to fix that, too. I'm not going to sit here and profess that this will fix every PDF export, but it worked for me this time and it's certainly an easy enough thing to try. I know what some of you are thinking, though. "I need a tagged PDF" for accessibility or some other purpose so I can't disable that. The bizarre thing about this is that once you toggle it off and get a good PDF, the odds are pretty good that toggling it back on won't hurt anything.
