Skip to Vista specific issues __________________________________________________ ______ 40000 Error If you are experiencing the 40000 error on failed to launch, follow these instructions to fix the problem: 1 - Locate the LOTRO install folder on your hard drive 2 - Open the Forward folder 3 - Delete all files of 0kb in size 4 - Run the launcher again and your issue should be resolved ----------------------------------------------- Stuck at "Getting data centres" If you get this message, please close the launcher and try failed to queue again. It's due to us controlling entry into the login servers - we've slightly reduced the max. load it can take at once so as not to overwhelm the servers. ----------------------------------------------- Hash Error whilst patching If you are seeing the hash error whilst patching, please close the launcher and restart it. We have had to replace a couple of the files and those should have propagated across all download servers. Some players have created their own workaround which you can read about in this thread. The hash code error can also come up on occasion if you have any kind of internet security/safety software installed (netnanny, safe eyes etc) or in some instances if you have an email filtering/antispam program installed. Usually all you need to do is tell the app to not filter/block the game sites: *lotro.patch.codemasters.com *lotro.cdnetworks.us ----------------------------------------------- Loyatly Points Not Yet In Account Loyatly Points are currently being issued. Due to the amount of Points and accounts involved, this process could take up to two days to complete. We will be issuing an email to all eligible players within the next couple of day
PMThe AllowFakeFullScreen=False goes into the UserPreferences.ini file in your ˝/The Lord of the Rings Online/ . Oh for heavens sake, I kept looking in the wine file. It took my husband who runs vista to let me know there was a LOTRO folder in my home folder. Which I believe you pointed out. Turning down the shadows helped some, still getting scratchy sound, and my colors aren't as vibrant as my husbands though we run the same graphics card. I'll keep working on the sound. I'm just feeling all silly right now. amygSeptember 17th, 2008, 05:38 PMWell, the graphics are still a little glitchy, but not as bad. My main issue with the graphics as of now is the fact that my husband and I have the same card and his screen looks really awesome where as mine looks dull and bland in comparison. I thought it looked fine until I saw his screen haha. So I'll keep looking and wil tweak my settings a bit to see if I can get the graphics smoother. There's supposed to be a difference. You can test this by asking your husband to test this by changing Lotro's UserPreferences.ini file's DirectX 10 option (forget what it's called, but it's there) to "disabled" / "off" whatever, so that the Vista machine will
