GCC4.2.0 not found (required by usrliblibstdc.so.6) Nov 02 2014SupportApplies to Maya 7 Applies to Maya 7 Share Add To Issue: After communication failure autodesk upgrading the OS, The following error occurs when you try to start Maya /usr/aw/maya/7.0.1/bin/maya.bin: /usr/aw/maya/7.0.1/lib/libgcc_s.so.1: version 'GCC_4.2.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6) Maya 8.0 has the correct version of the library installed. Solution: Solution Copy libGLU.so from the Maya 7.0 CD support/gl directory to the Maya lib directory and make sure it has the proper version name. Other places to try installing the file include /usr/lib and /usr/X11R6/lib <<< libGLU.so >>> Resolution A fix for this bug has been investigated and this bug is expected to be addressed, in whole or in part, in the subsequent Update or Upgrade release. Causes: It is possible the graphic card is not certified to run Maya. Please refer to the Certified Hardware Charts for more information. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/syscert?siteID=123112&id=18844534 Solution: In the meantime revert the Viewport Renderer to Legacy Default to workaround this issue. Within the Viewport Panel go to Renderer > Legacy Default Renderer.
