Failed To Bind To Port Minecraft Server
[INFO] Starting minecraft server version 1.6.4 [INFO] Loading properties [INFO] Default game type: SURVIVAL [INFO] Generating keypair [INFO] Starting port map Minecraft server on *:25565 [WARNING] **** FAILED TO BIND TO PORT! [WARNING] The exception was: {0} [WARNING] Perhaps a server is already running on that port? I don't have any other servers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoxqHq-g11c running as far as I know. Please help! Thanks in advance. Last edited: Feb 20, 2014 Moqorro, Feb 20, 2014 #1 Connor Gavitt Well-Known Member Something is definitely takeing up the port for sure, doesn't have to be minecraft. In servers only 1 thing can use 1 port at the same time. Try this netstat -plten |grep java or netstat -plten And kill https://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/failed-to-bind-to-port-mac.41462/ whatever is using port 25565 by its PID Connor Gavitt, Feb 20, 2014 #2 Moqorro New Member Thank you for your response. I entered that code, but it said "unknown or uninstrumented protocol", and there is nothing running on port 25565. Could there be any other cause of this error? Moqorro, Feb 20, 2014 #3 Moqorro New Member I solved the problem! I had to map the port 25565, that was all. Now I feel dumb, but at least I solved it! I just signed up a few mins ago just to ask this question. I know of a fact my ports are open, and https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1286421 I have everything in the router what is should be. I've heard many https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110706125501AAvHefM people say instead of putting your router's Ip in, you should put your Ipv4 Ip, I thought that the Ipv4 Ip for local use. I'm looking to be able to play with my friends that are in the states and over seas. Any help I can get will be greatly appreciated, thank failed to you. I removed the Ip from the Server Properties file, and ran the server nothing happened. Then I looked for a new port and all that came up was Minecraft's 25565 port. R

Everything was working perfectly fine until yesterday when me and my friend were playing and i disconnected and then accidentally exited out of the server software. My friend was still playing when i exited out of the server. He was then kicked off obviously because nothing was running the server. But when i tried to run the server again a message appeared that i have pasted at the bottom of this post. Also someone said to change the name of the server by going into my properties, so i did it and it let me go on to the server but it would not let my friend. Anyone have a clue what to do? Thanks it is much appreciated! Below is the message that appears when i try to open the server [INFO] Starting minecraft server version Beta 1.7.2 [INFO] Loading properties [INFO] Starting Minecraft server on 99.149.127
