Failed To Login To Nfc Server Esxi 6
Feb 6, 2008 10:47 AM While trying to load a file upto a datastore folder I received the following cryptic
Failed To Log Into Nfc Server Vmware 6
error: Failed to log into nfc server I am unclear as to what this is since there is only 1 hit for this in the vmware forums (2 hits on google). Nothing really which
Failed To Create Nfc Download Stream
really answers what this means or how to fix it in my situation. Is it possible that nfc was mispelled and it was supposed to say nfs? Even then I am still unclear how to solve the problem. Re: "failed to log into nfc server" during upload of file to nfc vmware a datastore Rockapot Feb 15, 2008 7:13 AM (in response to steven.dahlin) Not too sure what is causing your specific issue however I was receiving NFC write timeout's a while back when trying to connect to Virtual Center however this turned out to be as a result of a database lock/stuck operation..We had the DBA's clear the locks, then started the VI service and where able to log back in to Virtual Center.Thought this may help in some way..How are you trying to load the file's in to your datastore? Re: "failed to log into nfc server" during upload of file to a datastore j.hurst Mar 5, 2008 7:24 AM (in response to steven.dahlin) I ran into this recently and since I couldn't find anything online either I thought I would reply even though this is a bit old.In my case my client does not sit on the same network as the ESX server. I found that in order to upload files using the Datastore Browser port 902 has to be opened between the client and the server. For me my sites' firewall between the networks was blocking port 902. Without port 902 b

Upon instigating the copy it immediately failed. Puzzled I reversed the copy to test the transfer mechanism, this too failed. The error message? Failed to log into NFC server. NFC Error A quick look on the web revealed many references to a VMware KB article 1017196, but this describes issues with the VMX file in a VMware 3.5 Infrastructure. This was not what I was using. A few more searches, delving and browsing forums I stumbled upon a clue. The DNS servers on the host. Sure enough, it was the DNS entries, the servers specified were referencing a set of DNS IP addresses that had no entries for the ESXi hosts I was administering. Genius. If you've stumbled upon this error I'm hoping you've found this resolution quicker than I did. 8 Responsesto "VMware vCenter 5 - NFC Server error" Tony Hall says: September 25, 2012 at 11:51 Hello Darren - I had this too! dawoo says: September 25, 2012 at 13:04 Not just me then Bob Sawyer says: October 23, 2012 at 16:35 What exactly do you mean by "DNS hierarchy that was not relevant to the virtual infrastructure." My DNS entries seem correct, but maybe I am looking at something else. Thanks dawoo says: October 23, 2012 at 19:16 I'll update the text, it's not quite clear having read your comment and my post again. What I was referring to was the DNS entries weren't correct for the VMware Infrastructure I was administering. Someone had provided DNS servers for another data centre, the static entries for the ESXi hosts did not exist, hence the lookup failure. Hope that makes sense? Cheers, Darren. cagunlabs says: November 28, 2012 at 00:01 gr
