Failed To Open Stream File_get_contents
In PHP scripts, whether calling include(), require(), fopen(), or their derivatives such as include_once, require_once, or even, move_uploaded_file(), one often runs into an error or warning : Failed to open stream : No such file or directory. What is a good process to quickly find the root cause of the problem ? php fopen require include-path php-include share|improve this question edited Sep 11 at 9:20 asked Apr 12 at 14:58 Vic Seedoubleyew 2,51211026 failed to open stream no such file or directory in wordpress 4 I've cleaned up the off-topic comments on this post. Please keep meta discussions in meta. However, please take note that the discussion of canonical questions viability has been done over and over and over again. Granted, it's still beta, but it seems like it should obviate the need for these sorts of "answers." –miken32 Apr 22 at 22:17 I think it's still private beta. docs-beta.stackexchange.com –miken32 Apr 23 at 14:12 @miken32 No it would not. For starters there is no documentation site as is. Secondly this canonical targets questions about the topic on SO. –PeeHaa Apr 25 at 11:00 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 65 down vote accepted +500 There are many reasons why one might run into this error and thus a good checklist of what to check first helps considerably. Let's consider that we are troubleshooting the following line: require "/path/to/file" Checklist 1. Check the file path for typos either check manually (by visually checking the path) or move whatever is called by require* or include* to its own variable, echo it, copy it, and try accessing it from a terminal: $path = "/path/to/file";

The / makes it start at the top of your filesystem. Note: filesystem path, not Web site path (you're not accessing it over HTTP). You can use a relative path with include_once (one that doesn't start with a leading /). You can change it to this: include_once 'headerSite.php'; That will look first in the same directory as the file that's including it (i.e. C:\xampp\htdocs\PoliticalForum\ in your example. share|improve this answer answered Oct 17 '11 at 13:54 Daren Chandisingh 1,6411713 1 Thanks it helped –Dmitry Makovetskiyd Oct 17 '11 at 15:05 I have started a troubleshooting checklist for this frequent error here : stackoverflow.com/a/36577021/2873507
Local Community Meetups Laravel.io Site and Community Forum Installation, Configuration White screen and php 'failed to http://laravel.io/forum/05-20-2014-white-screen-and-php-failed-to-open-stream-error?page=1 open stream' error Hi all, Apologies if this is somewhat of http://share.ez.no/forums/install-configuration/failed-to-open-stream-no-such-file-or-directory-error a newbie question (I am one) but I can't seem to put my finger on it. I have installed Laravel locally and all is well. However, when I deploy to my Plesk server via SFTP I get the following errors: Warning: require(/var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com/laravel/bootstrap/../vendor/autoload.php) [function.require]: failed to failed to open stream: No such file or directory in/var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com/laravel/bootstrap/autoload.php on line 17 Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com/laravel/bootstrap/../vendor/autoload.php' (include_path='.:') in/var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com/laravel/bootstrap/autoload.php on line 17 Plesk normally sets /httpdocs as web root, so I have changed this to /laravel/public. I have not moved any files around within /laravel. It seems to me that failed to open the path is simply not being followed correctly, but it works perfectly well on my local server. I know there is probably a simple answer staring me in the face but I just can't see it. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! ollie-new 2 years ago citricsquid 2 years ago Solution Did you run composer install? ollie-new 2 years ago No. Should I have to when I've just SFTP'd everything over? thepsion5 2 years ago Unless you've also copied the vendor directory over, you'll need to do that as well. Laravel manages its dependencies through Composer, so as a result all of it's internal components are stored in the vendor folder. ollie-new 2 years ago Yeah vendor went across as well... I'll install composer on Plesk tomorrow (can't SSH from home IP) and run it. Thanks. ollie-new 2 years ago OK, so I got this working. I installed composer on Plesk and ran composer install as citricsquid suggested. Thanks! Although I w

Also searched on Google to see if someone had a solution, but couldn't find anything exactly like this problem. If the file is there, but not getting read, it is likely a permissions problem.This is basic web dev stuff, unrelated to eZ - u
