If ten years ago it was still common to see an entire company using just one server, these days that's no longer the case. New computers are added to the network with the understanding that they will be taken care of by the admins. Keeping an eye on these servers is a tedious, time-consuming process. Even with 5 minutes per server (to check the logs https://community.spiceworks.com/windows_event/show/1138-rasman-20063 and other parameters), it may take an hour to make sure that everything is ok and no "red lights" are blinking on any of the servers. read more... XP Pro SP3, Dell 9400 laptop, Bios A02, Avast In Event Viewer I getting a continual string failed to of the following two Errors: Rasman 20063: Remote Access Connection Manager failed to start because the Point to Point Protocol failed to initialize. The specified module could not be found. Service Control Manager 7023: The Remote Access Connection Manager service terminated with the following error: The specified module could not be found. I can't identify rasman error 20063 a specific action that triggers this. It seems to be happening all the time. The errors go back as far as Event Viewer lists so I can't identify a specific change that was made to cause it. I'm not ready to upgrade to Win7 yet and would like to avoid completely reinstalling XP if possible. The only things I've found online appear to be associated with Symantec uninstall, which I did several years ago, but suggested fixes don't work. Can anyone point me in the right direction to try to resolve? Thanks in advance for any help!! These Errors are always preceded by these two Informations: Service Control Manager 7035: The Remote Access Connection Manager service was successfully sent a start control. Service Control Manager 7036: The Remote Access Connection Manager service entered the stopped state. Remote Access Connection Manager failed to start because the Point to Point Protocol failed to intiialize. The specified module could not be found. This is also followed by a RASMAN error 7023. The Remote Access Connection Manager service terminated with the following error: The specified module could not be found. I tried runnign the network connection wizard and that did not resolve the issue. When I try to add aVPN network the New Connection Wizard will not avance beyond Network Connection Type. I have internet connection, but the problem appears to prevent me from installing SP3 and other updates. I cannot seem to find anything on reinstalling the Point to Point Protocol. Any ideas?
