to attack therouters..... Take some measures below to fix this wifite failed to associate issue 1) Give command .. wash -i mon0 .. to see that if the reaver failed to associate solution Network is having WPS enabled which you are trying to brute force using reaver ... If the network is listed below then

the wps is enabled on it.. See the below image Note= Reaver will only work on WPS enabled Networks reaver command= reaver -i mon0 -b 11:22:33:44:55:66 -vv -c 6 2) Check if your wireless card http://null-byte.wonderhowto.com/forum/failed-associate-with-essid-kali-linux-0166202/ is in monitor mode by giving command .. iwconfig Here mode is Managed and you need to go into Monitor mode to make reaver work 3) The channel should also be right one , which is being used in reaver command 4) Range of the target Network should also be good enough 5) if nothing works you should also try to change your mac address..May be the targeted Network has blocked http://hackingthem.blogspot.com/2015/08/reaver-issue-failed-to-associate-with.html your mac address .. ALFA AWUS036H v5. I've spoofed my mac because I have mac filtering enabled for testing and https://forums.kali.org/archive/index.php/t-18673.html my commands are ifconfig wlan0 down ifconfig hw ether (bssid) ifconfig wlan0 up airmon-ng start wlan0 reaver -i mon0 -c 1 -b (bssid) --mac=(spoofed mac) -a --dh-small -N -d 0 The router is using WPA-TKIP and has WPS enabled. Any idea on why it wont associate? I get >Starting mon0 on channel 1< >Waiting for failed to beacon<. In airodump I can confirm that I am getting beacons and my rssi is about -60 (the router is downstairs). Thanks for any help you can provide! Also I'm using reaver 1.4 and the system is all updated. greendragon44442013-09-16, 11:26 PMI've had that problem before. Yes but aireplay-ng's association method only works with WEP encrypted networks, not WPA. soxrok22122013-09-19, 11:47 PMsoxrok, could you please use the code tags.
