A common cause of this is a failed door latch assembly. This will register an E47 error code in the computer, to check for this hold down the start http://forum.partsdr.com/showthread.php?1-Frigidaire-Washer-E47-Error-Code and pause/cancel keys simultaneously for 5 seconds. If you receive an E47 error code you will need to check the PTC on the door latch assembly, the "board thinks the door PTC circuit is open in spin". Remove the door latch assembly and measure the resistance of the PTC, it should be around 1500 ohms. If its much lower than that it needs to be replaced. This is the PTC. Measure the resistance between the two terminals. Most NEW door latch PTC's that I measure usually read higher than 1500 ohm's, this particular one I measured was 1750 ohms. From what you have described I recommend replacing the door lock. The PTC wax motor may check good on the meter but fail during operation. I do not suggest replacing the control board again. Another possibility is a voltage or wiring harness problem going to or coming from the door lock. I got the Washer Tech Data Sheet from the envelope below and ran the diagnostic. It's actually pretty neat how it does a different thing for each setting of the dial. As best as I can tell everything worked, it even did the drain and spin on the eighth click of the dial (Sport). On the ninth click (Wool) it gave the error code "E47" which I looked up in the Washer Tech Data Sheet. It says, "Board thinks the door PTC circuit is open in spin. Refer to test (9)." Test 9 says, "Remove the door lock assembly and measure the resistance of the PTC." If it's about 1500 ohms the control board is defective. If it's open or shorted the PTC is defective. There's one itsy bitsy problem. Nowhere can I find what the PTC is! I looked at the schematic and there's no sign of the PTC or anything that has those initials. I assume it is part of the door latch assembly. Any idea which part? Also, it occurs to me that it might be easier to measure the resistance at the connector where it plugs into the control board than to take the washer front off to get to the door switch assembly. Am I right about that? Finally, while doing the diagnostic I tried to see if the system recognized when the door was open. It did. I see from the schematic there is a second "auxiliary" door switch. Is that possibly the PTC? Or, am I chasing the wrong thing? Do I need to and check that rubb
