a minute: Sign up Linux kernel module crash debug: general protection fault: 0000 [#1] SMP up vote 2 down vote favorite 2 I have a kernel module for splitting incoming rtp packets and merging rtp outgoing packets. The program crashes once in 2/3 days. If would be very convenient for me if its possible to find the exact line where the mimo simo miso module crashes. I have given the crash dump below. Is it possible to find the exact line in the code from crash dump? But there is no core dump. How do I debug the problem ? There are more programs for debugging programs but for now I will suggest you valgrind. So run your program through valgrind: valgrind /path/to/your/program and then reproduce steps to cause your program to General Protection Fault. If the software isnt yours, you'll have to contact the author and get support. share|improve this answer answered Feb 28 '13 at 18:27 Zaffy 8,93442662 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of service.
