I'll try to reinstall. EDIT: Reinstalled, still same error. The error said:#GP exeption 13 in world 2157:bootstrap.Motherboard is an ASUS P5N7A-VM - running ESXi 4.1 without any problems.Everything perifery is disabled except the onboard NIC. No IDE, ATA, Sound, no nothing.VT enabled. Is it possible to run ESXi 5.0 on this board?Regards, Lars. 706Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. As you are aware if you need to use all esxi5 features like VMFS5.DJ Like Show 0 Likes (0) Actions 2. Re: GP exeption pink screen on ESXi5 install clementwong Sep 5, 2011 general protection fault 1:03 AM (in response to bonne1) It seems your error is related to a General Protection Fault exception which occurs when:1) Whatever is being requested does not belong to the program requesting it, and it is also not mapped to the program memory2) Or the program you are running, which is probably the installer, does not have rights to perform a read or write operation on the pageIt can be often caused by a hardware or software issue. What you could do, is perform a root cause analysis from VMware. But you can't do this as you need access to protected source code and analysis tools. But you can collect diagnostics information from your ESX host and submit a support request to VMware.Alternatively, you can just backup your VMs to a NFS and do a fresh install of ESXi 5.More information on exceptions can be found here -> http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1020181Cheers,Clement Like Show 0 Likes (0) Actions 3. I've tried to install both ESXi 4.1 update 1 and 5.1 from CD but my SATA drives are not recognized by the installer. Did you use the integrated SATA controller for your 4.1 installation or added another controller? I'm also usi

I had multiple problems with GPF error's at random with UT2003 and other games that used the same engine! Problem solved! It was all heat related! Setup: A7N8X motherboard AMD 2800+ Radeon 9700 Pro (3.2 drivers) 512 MB Crucial RAM PC2700 (256 x 2) Two Seagate 80G Serial ATA Raid 0 One 40G Maxtor IDE ATA 133 Windows XP SP1 and all updates DX9a Case is an Antec Plus View SOHO server 5 thermal controlled case fans PSU 550 Antec two fans Toshiba DVD Lite On CDR ATI PCI TV Wonder I was continually (at random) geting GPF errors (Various) with UT2003 (current patch!). I had noticed one day that the memory on my 9700 Pro was getting hot to the touch. I bought these heatsinks: http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...584&pfp=BROWSE I had to cut these up with a dremel to fit the card. My case has a blow hole right next to the video card. I turned the fan around to blow on the heat sinks that I installed. everything is rock solid now!!!!!! FYI I also had a ThermalTake Volcano 6 laying around and installed the fan from it to the stock heat sink on the GPU. Spins at about 4800! Notes: I'm running the card at 4x (8x does not work!! Blue screens!) with Fast Wirites Enabled. 66 Mhz, 1.5 volts, 128 Aprature in BIOS. I would only run at 4x AA and 4x Anist. , Texture and Mipmap set to "Quality" and TruForm set to "Application Preference" and would crash. Now testing for two hours straight with same settings, NO Problem with heatsinks installed! FYI on the power thing, I have a 550 PSU with A HDD in line on the same cable as the Radeon 9700 pro and power is not the problem! HEAT!!!!!!!!!! That solved my issues!
