General Protection Fault: History
lukamus Guest Posts: n/a RainbowSix Vegas 2 - General Protection Fault! i installed RainbowSix Vegas 2 after buying the Ubisoft's 4-game bundle deal rainbow 6 vegas 2 general protection fault last weekend, once it was installed and opened it gives me the first image and this error message. General protection fault! History: And that's it, there's nothing after history, I've seen that people have had a slimier problem with a general protection fault history splinter cell whole range of games but not without some description after history:..... has any one had this problem or know what i can do? I tried to check the cache and it says that 2 files aren't valid and they've been downloaded again, and if i check it again before starting the game it says that everything's ok, but when i get back to the game, i get the same error again and the cache check still says 2 files aren't valid... ANSWER: This problem is a connection problem between the game on your system and our server. Please try the following steps to resolve this : 1) Patch to version 1.02. You can do this from the following link : http://patches.ubi.com/rainbow_six_vegas/rainbow_six_vegas_1.02.exe 2) Check general protection any firewalls on your system to ensure they are not blocking the game from accessing the internet. Applications like Norton Internet Security, Zone Alarm, BlackIce etc will all act as a firewall. Please check the documentation that came with the firewall to allow the game access. 3) Try disabling all the background applications on your system to see if this helps allow the game general protection fault to operate.
