I just set up my FTP clients (including BC) to use an SSH tunnel (using Tunnelier to provide the tunneling). With my FTP_only client (LeapFTP) that works just fine. With BC it initially seems to work OK, except that *some* directories cannot be viewed (this happens even on a directory for which the logged-in user is the owner) - BC errors out with an access violation, but generic error for doesn't crash. LeapFTP has no problem showing these same directories. On directories that I can view, I can do normal comparison, even of files. I simply cannot determine what would be different for the directories where it errors, but it's always the same ones. From the log I see that a LIST command is executed, followed by a series of MDTD commands (but this list does not include all files!), followed by "Load Comparison: J:\Websites\SolidHost Upload\var\www <->" (without the remote dir!) ... and that's when the access violation dialog pops up. (I'd attach a screenshot if I could attach anything...) I tried all 4 combinations of FTP libraries with passive mode on or off - no difference. Version 2.5 (build 250) Exception occurred at 00117C87 Access violation at address 042A8C87 in module 'BC2.exe'. Read of address 00000000 Since I'm just starting to migrate a bunch of sites to a new host, not being able to use BC for that is a bit of a handicap... The access violation does NOT happen without the SSH tunnel but I want my sessions secured for this server. If you need any more information, please let me know.
