Workflow¶ Generally, you do a lot of intermediate renders of different frames in your animation to check for timing, lighting, placement, materials, and so on. At some point, you are ready to make a final render of the complete

animation for publication. There are two approaches you can use when making a movie, or animation, with or without sound. The approach you should use depends on the amount of CPU time you will need to render the movie. You can render a "typical" frame at the desired resolution, and then multiply by the number of frames that will ultimately go into the movie, to arrive at an total render time. If the total render time is an hour or more, you want to use the "Frame Sequence" approach. For example, if you are rendering an one-minute video clip for film, there will be (60 seconds per minute) X (24 frames per second) or 1440 frames per minute. If each frame takes 30 seconds to render, then you will be able to render two frames per minute, or need 720 minutes (12 hours) of render time. Rendering takes all available CPU time; you should render overnight, when the computer is not needed, or set Blender to a low priority while rendering, and work on other things (be careful with the RAM space!). Direct Approach The Direct Approach, which is highly not recommended and not a standard practice, is where you set your output format to an AVI or MOV format, and click Animation to render your

Deleting the previous render movie solved the problem for me. I'm not sure what the real problem is, but my best guess is something related to file permissions. Just a blind-shot. How to fix? up vote 1 down vote favorite 1 Today is my first day using blender and while it's great software, I'm getting frustrated now. All my images are rendering black... The output of my animation is an .mpg video. The images themselves were created in GIMP and saved as non-transparent .png's. Can anyone suggest anything? Anyone know how to fix this? If I make the sunlight intensity too high, the image can't be seen; however, if I make the image sunlight too low, the background goes all gray... –Eamorr Aug 2 '12 at 15:39 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 6 down vote accepted If you go to the properties menu (Shift-F7), and then click on the materials tab, there you should check the 'shadeless' box. share|improve this answer answered Aug 3 '12 at 1:31 asdfasdfgeragsergergearg 1814 Legend. Then gradually change this emit value to get expected shading of the object. To do so you have to render the view several times. In this way you can also retain the realistic 3D nature of the object. share|improve this answer answered Mar 25 at 8:02 Bandula Dharmadasa 32
