the VM: exit status 1 Looks like something went wrong... Press any key to continue... I'm using DockerToolbox-1.9.1i, including its VirtualBox and Git client installations. Following the advice in similar issues, I checked if VT-X was enabled at BIOS level and it is. I also tried removing default virtual machine and letting Docker Quickstart Terminal to create it again, but it just displays the first log again. I also tried removing host only network adapters from VirtualBox, but they just get created again. livia-b commented Jan 28, 2016 I had a similar problem, and it turned out to be a driver from avira https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=67840&p=347563#p347694 jo-me commented Jan 30, 2016 Same issue here, but I don't have Avira. jo-me commented Jan 30, 2016 even though I upgraded to the latest virtualbox the error did not go away. So I uninstalled virtualbox, rebooted and reinstalled the latest version (5.0.14). Then rebooted again. After that, I was able to execute the start.sh script to create the initial "default" vm. Note that I'm on Windows 10 x64 though. W7PEA commented Feb 10, 2016 Reproduced today... I had 9f installed, uninstalled that. installed 1.10 and ran quickstart with this fail

Enabling it in the BIOS is mandatory You need to go into your laptop BIOS and enable VT-X/AMD-v. 👎 7 GiantEnemyCrab commented Nov 11, 2015 Thanks for the response! Actually, I am on vmware and it's one of the VMs, headless. I am not the admin of the machine, but I suppose it is still possible to configure it? Docker member dmp42 commented Nov 11, 2015 So, you are inside a VMWare VM and trying to start virtualbox inside it? If so, it's very unlikely to work. Virtualization inside virtualization is usually not working. GiantEnemyCrab commented Nov 11, 2015 yes, I am on the VM server (not physical) and trying to create docker machine with the virtualbox docker inside that VM. nathanleclaire commented Nov 11, 2015 I do have VirtualBox inside of VMware Fusion working on a VM on my laptop, you have to toggle a setting in the Preferences menu for the VM to get nested virtualization to work though. nathanleclaire commented Nov 11, 2015 @

When I run the quickstart I get: Creating Machine default... Running pre-create checks... Creating machine...
