I tried enabling USB debugging as some have suggested, but it didn't change anything. The program does not hang, it just sits there with a black screen. :D Isn't http://www.modaco.com/forums/topic/293630-cant-get-superuser-permissions-to-work-solved/ my hero supposed to be "rooted" as soon as i flash the MoDaCo rom? I tried 2.3, and had the same problems (and some extra lag), so i downgraded to 2.2 that runs perfectly, but still the same problem with superuser priv. If i try to run some commands (such as sudo or iwconfig I just get permission denied, as i did with the vanilla rom). What am i doing wrong? edit: I just misunderstood how this worked :) , see posts below Edited October 2, 2009 by vman81
 kendon 0 Addict Members 0 923 posts Devices:HTC Hero, ZTE Blade Posted October 2, 2009 same problem here. just a black screen. i tried several ideas to solve the problem, but i can't find any sqlite file in my data dir, and i am unable to uninstall or replace the superuser app.
 clarkEEE1 0 Enthusiast Members 0 214 posts Location:colne Devices:hero Posted October 2, 2009 I Dont think you can do a right lot with the superuser icon in the menu I might be wrong it just comes up blank anyway, certain apps need root to run which yo
Jun 17, 2011 Messages: 4,849 Likes Received: 871 i know i'm rooted as most of them work perfectly fine (granted permissions) but recently some apps randomly get added http://androidforums.com/threads/app-name-has-been-denied-superuser-permissions.652658/ to the 'deny' list and stick that way unless i uninstall, reinstall, and run them again. i set the SuperUser program to automatically approve but it still does this occasionally. the most recent it denied No-Frills CPU Control, the app loaded and said 'error, are you rooted?' then i uninstalled that and reinstalled and it works fine. what gives? This does two things. Ensures that YOU set the rights up to allow instead of giving the SU app the chance to deny it automatically. Secondly, this keeps possible rogue apps from being granted SU access allow superuser permissions and opening up security holes in your phone.
