The camera has worked fine with this SD card for a couple years, but I recently started getting a "Memory Full" error whenever I try to take a photo (despite that fact that I have more than 16gb of space left). I can delete a photo and successfully take another one, http://photo.stackexchange.com/questions/30318/why-am-i-getting-a-memory-full-error-with-plenty-of-space-left but if I try to take another beyond that I get the memory error. Looking at the card on my computer shows it has 14907840 bytes used out of a total of 31689728 with 16781888 available. There are 2377 photos/videos in the 100CASIO directory on the card. On my computer I can create a text file in that directory and save it with no problem. According to Casio, this camera is supposed to support 32gb SDHC cards just fine. Have I run into some kind of limit I'm not aware of with this camera? Or is it simply malfunctioning? Or do I have some kind of error on my SD card that only makes a difference on the camera and not the computer? troubleshooting point-and-shoot memory-card sdhc error share|improve this question edited Dec 8 '12 at 2:11 mattdm 90.9k29263514 asked Dec 7 '12 at 22:12 jrdioko 109115 See photo.stackexchange.com/questions/29926/… and photo.stackexchange.com/questions/17739/… –dpollitt Dec 7 '12 at 23:25 @dpollitt: Thanks for the suggestions, but neither applies in my case. There are no other directories with additional photos, there are no other files anywhere on the card, and the space used/available I posted above comes straight from the OS (Linux's du and df), so there's definitely free space. –jrdioko Dec 7 '12 at 23:28 I would try another card. It is pretty common for them to fail. If you have the issue with other cards you h

Something is causing the file to stall the second time I run it. Alternately, it sometimes refuses to open at all and I get an error message claiming that the computer memory is full. This is not true. It does the same thing on several other computers: It runs ok the first time through and then problems. If I change the name of the file, it opens! I found a tech note to defrag and repair, which I did, but it didn't help I have the same question Show 0 Likes(0) 1015Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Show 7 replies 1. Re: Memory full error in AW7 Newsgroup_User May 3, 2007 1:44 PM (in response to ciaramitaro) This sounds like .rec file problem to me. (search your "Documents and Settings" folder for *.rec to find where they are) Is the file set to 'Resume' where it left off? Try running the file then delete the .rec file and then run the file again. If it runs the second time without error, then run a third time but leave the .rec file in place. If it errors when the .rec file is there then the .rec file isn't be re-loaded properly. Run through all your variables and make sure you have the right variable initial types for your variables. In almost every case the system will take care of variable types changing as necessary. But I have noted some problems with list types. If it starts as a number and then gets changed to a list it may cause a problem like this. HTH, Mike ==================== Mike Baker Adobe Community Expert mike-baker@cox.net "ciaramitaro"
