You can recreate the needed symlink by running dpkg-reconfigure resolvconf or by doing the following in a terminal. sudo ln -nsf ../run/resolvconf/resolv.conf

I'm using Ubuntu SERVER 14.04.03 and runs ubuntu desktop on it, and not using NetworkManager. Just simply use: /etc/network/interfaces for networking and here is it: Internet connection is on eth0 dan internal is on eht1 auto eth0 iface eth0 inet dhcp post-up iptables-restore < /etc/iptables.up.rules auto eth1 iface eth1 inet static address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx netmask 255.255.255.0 . . problem started when I accidentally deleted resolv.conf and now I wasn't able to connect to the internet . I've tried re-installing resolvconf to no avails Code: $sudo dpkg-reconfigure resolvconf and select dynamically update dns, and rebooted when eth0 was brought up, it showed up error msg : Internet Systems Consortium DHCP Client 4.2.4 Copyright 2004-2012 Internet Systems Consortium.
