Trending Now Answers Best Answer: The total percentage error in the apparatus is equal to the sum of the individual percentage errors in the equipment. The percentage error in a piece of equipment is equal to the error in it over the reading taken by it, x100. For example, if you measured 25cm^3 of a solution with a pipette the percentage error would be 0.02/23 x 100. Westgard, PhD, and Sten A. Westgard, MS // Date: SEP.1.2013 // Source: Clinical Laboratory News Topics: Lab Management, Quality Assurance Today clinical laboratories have come under increased pressure to implement quality systems and new risk management guidelines for quality control in order to ensure timely and accurate delivery of test results. However, one issue that is often overlooked in these efforts is the actual quality goal or requirement for a laboratory test. In simple terms, the question that laboratory professionals should be asking is: how good does a test need to be? As laboratories attempt to answer this basic question, other questions quickly become evident—how should the laboratory define the quality goal? how should the laboratory validate the analytical methods to satisfy the goal? and w
