After installing it, instead of booting up, my laptop gives me the "Autosize DRAM" error beeps (1-3-3-1). How can I fix this? Thanks Report Abuse Message 1 of 9 (7,721 Views) Reply P10RS Upgrade Ace Posts: 217 Registered: 04-30-2009 0 Re: Autosize DRAM issue Options Mark as New Bookmark Subscribe Subscribe to RSS Feed Highlight Print Email to a Friend Report Abuse 06-11-2009 08:41 AM in reply to rxcapo HERE is a link to an old discussion I found on the web. There are a number of similar threads all from around 2004-2005, so I'm not sure why you are having this problem with your fairly new Toshiba. You must have the same bios as the error code beeps are the same as reported in the threads so maybe this will help you out.http://www.askmehelpdesk.com/advice/t-6049.html Report Abuse Message 2 of 9 (7,690 Views) Reply rxcapo Kilobyte Kid Posts: 5 Registered: 06-10-2009 0 Re: Autosize DRAM issue Options Mark as New Bookmark Subscribe Subscribe to RSS Feed Highlight Print Email to a Friend Report Abuse 06-11-2009 02:56 PM in reply to P10RS Thanks, but
about putting in new DDR RAM and my computer not starting up. (Also contacted emachine on-line technical support and was told this was likely the right memory for my machine but may be a defective stick.) I've looked up the Phoenix beep code of 1-3-3-1, which says "autosize DRAM". In simple terms, could someone kindly explain what this means? What's "autosize"? According to Crucial, the motherboard on the T2240 supports 2 banks of 1.
