boot failure Discussion in 'Software' started by Global2004, Dec 9, 2012. Global2004 Private First Class Hello All, Please correct me if I have posted in the http://forums.majorgeeks.com/index.php?threads/disk-boot-failure.270768/ wrong forum. I turned on my monitor to my desk computer and was https://forums.techguy.org/threads/error-code-biohd-3.984495/ greeted with a black screen saying, "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER _" I personally have no idea what to do. I pressed Ctrl-Alt-Delete and the COMPAQ Intel screen comes up with 4 options.

A couple of weeks ago on start up my PC turned to a black screen and said " DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISC AND PRESS ENTER " I ran system diagnostics and all previous tests were a "pass" besides TESTING BOOT PATH. That is when it reported BioHD-3 and said no bootable drives detected. I replaced the hard drive and still am getting the same error. I called HP Support and since my computer is out of warranty they can't help me with without paying a fee to have them help me diagnose the problem over the phone. My computer is barely 2 yrs old and used mainly for my children to do their school work. It's up to date and maintained well. Since i am not able to pay their fees i am in need of assistance if anyone has a suggestion Please let me know. Thank You so much in Advance ! MrsMarcos, Mar 6, 2011 #2 howardeng Joined: Apr 16, 2011 Messages: 1 not sure if it will work for you, but I had the same error after a windows update reboot. Power the system down. then power up again. you should see Press F10 for setup. press F10. (before it gets to the blank screen,) if you are not fast enough try again. When in set up, go the the last tab, and arrow down to "load defaults." Enter, and accept the responses to save.. I hope it works for you... howardeng, Apr 16, 2011 #3 joeten Joined: Jan 15, 2009 Messages: 3,852 Hi you can also try this http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=1&sqi=2&ved=0CBoQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fsupport.microsoft.com%2Fkb%2F927392&ei=HCarTZWLGtCwhAfvxcTHCQ&usg=AFQjCNFfiJp7IHKy7_QQFr43cSkc51a9IA joeten, Apr 17, 2011 #4 This thread has been Locked and is not open to further replies.
