Whenever I restart my computers I get multiple windows with the error message: "Norton AntiVirus Error, Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect could not continue. Please run LiveUpdate or reinstall Norton Antivirus and restart (Code 10)" Problem is, I can't run LiveUpdate because my subscription expired and I don't want to renew it. And I've already disabled Auto-Protect and that didn't help. So, I tried to uninstall Norton Antivirus. I found the uninstaller in the Symantec Solutions folder, but when I run it I get another error message: "Nothing found to uninstall, The Symantec Uninstaller did not find any Symantec products to uninstall. The Symantec Uninstaller removes Symantec products from the current startup disk only." Now this is absurd because Norton Antivirus is clearly in my applications folder as is its preferences files. So I went to the Norton website and downloaded a current copy of the Uninstaller. No luck, it produced the same message as above. Help, I just want to get rid of these annoying multiple error windows everytime I start up my computers. I'

The entire message reads: "Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect could not continue. Please run LiveUpdate or reinstall Norton AntiVirus and restart. (Code 10)"I do not use Norton AntiVirus. Spotlight searches for "Norton" or "AntiVirus" or "Auto-Protect" under Applications or my entire Hard Drive do not locate any reference/mention to any such program. I can find nothing to delete or trash. Anyone have ideas as to how to https://community.norton.com/en/forums/norton-antivirus-error-cannot-uninstall get rid of this constantly repeating message? In transferring programs some Norton apps may have initially come over, but my Norton for Mac was for the pre-Intel models and did not apply. I've never run Norton on this computer but have a vague memory of deleting/trashing some Norton files after the transfer. But I have not been able to find or locate any traces remaining other than this Code 10 message that appears whenever I restart the computer. Norton stuff hides all over a system (just like a Windows computer). Incidentally, Norton software is poison to a Mac running OS X. Additionally, since there are no documented viruses that affect a Mac running OS X, AV programs are a waste of money and resources.Barry Helpful (0) Reply options Link to this post by Matt Clifton, Matt Clifton Jul 6,
