do I add Skype? Skype supports both the UDP and TCP protocols. By default it uses UDP, but it switches to TCP if UDP is blocked. If you have a SOCKS5 proxy, create a redirect rule for Skype.exe, specify both the UDP and TCP transports. If you have a TCP-only proxy such as HTTPS, SOCKS4, or SSH, 1. Create a block rule for Skype.exe, specify the UDP transport. 2. Create a redirect rule for Skype.exe, specify the TCP transport. Top Does the order of rules matter? Yes. Rules are examined in ascending order (from top to bottom). If a rule matches, then all following rules are ignored. Top The ProxyCap tray icon is missing in Windows 7/8. multiple people ask about port forwards with Cobalt Strike’s Beacon payload. Beacon has had SOCKS proxy pivoting support since June 2013. This feature opens a SOCKS proxy server on the team proxycap alternative server. Each SOCKS server instance is associated with an individual Beacon. All requests proxycap free and traffic sent to a Cobalt Strike SOCKS server are sent to the Beacon to take action on. SOCKS

pivoting is a no-brainer with a SOCKS aware application, such as a web browser. Simply point the application at your Cobalt Strike team server, put in the right port, and away you http://www.proxycap.com/faq.html go. SOCKS pivoting is also easy on Linux, thanks to the magic of proxychains. The proxychains program will run a program, intercept outbound network connections from that program, and force the connection through the SOCKS proxy set in a global configuration file (/etc/proxychains.conf). These options work well in many cases, but they do not cover all cases. What happens if you need to tunnel http://blog.cobaltstrike.com/2016/06/01/howto-port-forwards-through-a-socks-proxy/ the Windows RDP client through the Beacon payload? How about interacting with a target network share from a red Windows asset tunneled over Cobalt Strike’s Beacon payload? One way to meet the above needs is to use a commercial tool, like ProxyCap, to make your Windows system proxy aware. [Thanks Meatballs, for the tip on this one]. This will allow you to force Windows tools and clients through the Beacon payload. Another option is to create a port forward on your team server that reaches the target host and port through your Beacon. There’s one problem here. Beacon does not have a port forward command [it does have reverse port forwards]. I may add this in the future, but it’s not a big omission. You can use socat to create a port forward that goes through a SOCKS proxy. Here’s the syntax to do this: socat TCP4-LISTEN:

Second and more important I am not sure that you can actually play the how to game if you are using only the free version of the tunneling client. You need just two free* programs: 1. Proxycap - this is a program to "force" the LoL client to use the tunnel client. You can get it from here: http://www.proxycap.com/download.html (http://eune.leagueoflegends.com/board/redirect.php?do=verify&redirect_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.proxycap.com%2Fdownload.html) NO LONGER USED 2. Http-Tunnel - this is the program which does the tunneling. You can get it from how to use here: http://www.http-tunnel.com/html/ (http://eune.leagueoflegends.com/board/redirect.php?do=verify&redirect_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.http-tunnel.com%2Fhtml%2F)2. Your Freedom - this is the program which does the tunneling. You can get it from here: http://www.your-freedom.net/ (http://eune.leagueoflegends.com/board/redirect.php?do=verify&redirect_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.your-freedom.net%2F) After you have downloaded and installed both programs you need to config them. Proxycap configuration: Basically you need to "force" the LoL client to use your localhost(your PC) as proxy. Part one - proxy config:From Ruleset -> Proxies -> New Proxy Server. As Display name put "LoL Tunnel" or whatever you like as it doesn't matter. Type - SOCKS5. Hostname - 127.0.0.1 Port - 1080 Press Ok and set it as Default Proxy. Part two - rules config:From Ruleset -> Rules -> New Routing Rule. Name - LoL or whatever you like. Click Next. Choose the "Redirect trough proxy" and select the default proxy server. Click Next. Choose "Specify". Click the "Add" button and what we do basicly is adding every single *.exe file in the LoL installation directory. Here is how my list looks like. Note that I have the game installed in "D:\Games\League of Legends\". If you want to only forward HTTP this is not necessary. And as a side note IMHO ssh might be the wrong solution to make a Webserver available on multiple ports. –Marcel G Jun 3 '11 at 9:16 9 I found this to mean "Cannot resolve hostname remote" in my case. –RobM Apr 22 '13 at 16:56 2 As you can see from the dozen of answers below, the error message, despite looking very specific, should be understood as a generic error. Generally, the solution is to open a shell at the remote and try the very same connection, to see the actual cause. You will find in answers below the most common actual causes. –Stéphane Gourichon Jan 31 '15 at 7:49 add a comment| 19 Answers 19 active oldest votes up vote 71 down vote Administratively prohibited generally means you've been blocked by a firewall or equivalent control software. This will be somewhere between localhost and remote. When you connect to the local endpoint on localhost, the other end of the ssh tunnel (also on localhost) will try to establish a connection to remote:8983. This is what is being blocked. You should find that if you try to connect from localhost to remote:8983 with a web browser, you should also get an error (although it may not display "Administratively prohibited
