Every new USB plugged printer is recongnized only as uknown device, even after indicating the exact path of the original printer driver. The others installed printers work, just as adding a network printer. Adding a new usb printer results in an error code 28 or error message that the driver has been found but the USB-Printing support is missing. Adding any other USB devices is ok, only the printers have the problem. Any solution - maybe via cmd? See if you can fix the bad port there. The printer is not shown, only as an unknown device. Sorry to ask, but how can I update the motherboard drivers - my PC is not a special brand but a workstation?
