an error message reads "out of paper", even though there is plenty. Has anyone had this problem, and if so, what would cause this to happen? Respond to this 0 Dirty rollers.Clean with water. by Stephen on Apr 11, 2007 at 4:38pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I have the same problem . the printer will not grab the paper, keeps saying out of paper, even when there is plenty of paper in the tray. One of my kids friends, got a paper jammed in the printer, and he pulled it out the front of the printer, now my printer will not grab any paper, can I fix this myself?Barb by mypets on Oct 25, 2007 at 2:04pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Remove the rear access door and clean the rollers with water, specifically the four small ones toward the top and the larger recessed one on the bottom left. by Bert on Oct 25, 2007 at 8:34pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Thanks Bert. I was having the same problem with my HP C3180 and I did what you said. It worked perfectly! by lizabond on Dec 9, 2007 at 4:36pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 False out of paper message. HP PSC1610Disassembly of the printer revealed that paper was not moving at all, so was not being presented to main rollers at back by small single feed roller which rests in contact with top of paper stack. Turned out to be 40mm white nylon encoder gear on left hand end of main exit roler shaft spinning on that shaft. This shaft also drives the single feed roller via a small gear chain. Repaired with epoxy adhsive (aralditte), and a copper ferule (made of small bore copper pipe) over nylon gear coller (to stop collar expanding). File diagonal groves in shaft to get a good key on shaft. Let glue fully set before turnig over by hand first, cleaning off excess araldite, than under power.Total repair time approx 3 hours so only bother if you really love that printer! Done as more of a chalenge than with any expectation of success. Difficulty - fairly tricky.rgds tim by Anonymous on Nov 4, 2008 at 11:34am Add comment Please sign in to comment Hi,The gear problem you're describing sounds like my situation. The paper doesn't budge. The exit roller does not move. I'm looking for the 40mm white gear, but I can't find it. Can you help me find it? May I send you a digita
