Hp Psc 750xi Scanner Error
searching for anything on the subject of "scanner failure",(my unit happens to be a hp d135), I happened upon the above thread. My problem first revealed itself by my computer and printer stalling and then permanent failure when trying to scan documents to the computer. I worked around it until it developed into a nearly constant "scanner failure" readout. I cannot copy from the bed while in this mode. I have to reboot the printer as often as necessary until the message disappears and I can dial out a fax or scan to copy. However, scanning to the computer has never worked since the initial failure. Are we talking about the same things, gentlemen, and does the particular hp model differ with the repair or remedy? by unknown on Jan 16, 2007 at 7:21pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Clean glass underside and scanner mirror.A little searching, forum not soul, may just reveal more... by Stephen on Apr 8, 2006 at 7:06am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 How do you clean the underside of the glass? I can't figure out how to get in there. by palomino on Dec 11, 2006 at 8:53pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Just ended an online chat with HP service (amazing thing...). I have had the same challenge (scanner failure, nothing seemed to help). My printer/scanner was plugged into a power strip/surge protector. The online technician had me unplug it from the surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. It worked (from front panel and HP director). The tech said it is probable that there was not enough power to heat the bulb properly.Hope this helps. If not, go to HPs site to seek an online tech. Worked for me!http://h20180.www2.hp.com by proudpapa on Jan 15, 2007 at 2:09pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Calling those people you talk to on the phone "techs" is an insult to us real techs. They aren't techs. The only thing they've ever done with printers is load them with paper. They read from a script. The smart ones will check this site for their answers. The whole printer might draw an astonishing 40 watts at full power draw. To even suggest that the power strip would be responsible (unless you have a 1500 watt heater plugged into it) is about the dumbest thing I've heard this year. Chalk it up to coincidence. HP "tech" support hasn't ever fixed anything for anyone, unless it w
