ATi display drivers Error "the inf was not found" the error reads exactly as in the title, this may seem like a double thread to someone who has seen another thread i was recently receiving help on, however what is inf file it is not, this is a separate issue. my procedure 1.uninstall drivers from device manager 2.use ati installer to uninstall further 3.reboot 4.delete all ATI/AMD files from C: and prog fils / prog x86 5.drivercleaner.net 3.4.5 (ran updater first) 6.reboot 7.update vga drivers 8. reinstalled VCC 12.1 (last stable version on my machine) bout 30% through the overall percent progress bar, i get a popup that reads "Error: the inf file was not found" despite my best efforts to give it driver fusion the best case senario. another fix for this someone gave is, to after this process, un install using the ati installer again and re install again and it should work... nope... people have said it may be a bloatware thing, but the problem is in the driver, not catalyst. im running out of options. the drivers still seem to be functioning despite this, however, i worry it may be the updated vga and ati drivers from within device manager. despite the drivers KIND OF still working, id feel more confident if i did not receive this error on installation My System Specs Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Build OS windows 7 Professional CPU Intel I7 4790k Motherboard ASUS Hero VII Memory 16gb DDR3 1600mhz Graphics Card Dual GTX 780 ASUS Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP 2331 Screen Resolution 1080p Keyboard Razer Deathstalker Mouse Razer Ouroboros PSU Corsair 800g Case NZXT Phantom Cooling fan Hard Drives 750gb Hitachi 7200rpm 500gb Crucial SSD Internet Speed 70mbps Antivirus MSE + M-Bam Browser Chrome Thornton View Public Profile Find More Posts by Thornton . 18 Mar 2012 #2 Kaktussoft Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bits 7601 Multiprocessor Free Service Pack 1 10,812 posts SecretCity uninstall as usually now goto AMD Driver Autodetect and follow instructions My System Specs Computer type Laptop System Manufacturer/Model Number ACER ASPIRE 5742G OS Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bits 7601 Multiprocessor Free Service

| posts: 3 Hello, a few days ago, I was running the 12.6 version of Catalyst Control Center and everything worked fine, and I was proposed to update to the 12.10 one, so I tried to do so. But now, when http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/220027-ati-display-drivers-error-inf-not-found.html I try to install any version of CCC, it always gives me the message that the "inf file was not found". That means I can't access the Video and VGA Displays settings panels. I would be chuffed if you came to solve my problem . Second : re-download 12.10 + Caps or 12.11b4 + Caps, possible your archive is "nuked". Third : delete your all "temp" (windows temp dir) + reinstall all drivers seb4771 View Public Profile Find all posts by seb4771 (#4) trocio2 Master Guru Videocard: GT 630 1GB DDR3 GK208 Kep Processor: Core 2 Quad Q8400 Mainboard: Asus P5QL-E Memory: ddr2 800 mhz, 2x2gb= 4gb Soundcard: Audigy SE PSU: Cooler Master 11-05-2012, 14:55 | posts: 470 Try performing a manual instalation, open device manager and locate the right inf. If your generic ati drivers are damaged (the ones that came with windows), open cmd (administrator) and type in sfc /scannow. (Some driver sweeper deleted my files and sfc restored them. It can happen). The right file is located in AMD/..../packages/drivers/display/W7_inf (or W8 if you are using Windows 8. The folder W..6A is for x64 systems). The inf is C7 (Windows 7), C8 (Windows 8) or CH (Windows Vista). trocio2 View Public Profile Find all posts by trocio2 (#5) KairosFTW Newbie Videocard: AM

He can't recall doing anything. ati inf error So it goes. I think "whatever", downloaded the latest Catalyst drivers, and try to install it, only to get the message "INF Error, Video Driver Not Found" and then "Try to set up your adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup". I tried googling for info (apparently it's a common-ish issue), but I never found anything that worked. I tried uninstalling anything ATI and then installing, to no avail. I tried uninstalling the error-listed VGA adapter from the Device Manager and then running install which didn't work. Rebooting after that also didn't work (it popped up with "New hardware found" after the reboot, but it couldn't find the proper drivers). After an unedifying series of adventures I got to http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/download/dld/spt_dld_detail.php?UID=45&kind=1 which has several drivers for my mobo. I first downloaded (obviously) the VGA driver, and tried to run setup. Unfortunately, after preparing the install, an Error message pops up saying "The system cannot detect the device, please confirm t
