First my system specs: Powercolor Radeon 9800 SE AMD Athlon XP 2500+ Asus A7N8X motherboard WindowsXP os It tends to freeze a lot while playing games (like http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/11730/ many here are having the same problems!). To get to the point, I thought that updating the driver may help solve this problem. After downloading the driver from this url http://www2.ati.com/drivers/wxp-w2k-catalyst-7-91-030625a-010027c-efg.exe and attempting to install (after deleting display drivers provided on my cd with my card) i get this error when trying to install INF Error. Video Driver Not Found What can I do about this? I searched the ATi website http://www.ati.com/support/infobase/3659.html which basicly said POWERED BY ATI products are manufactured using ATI components but by another manufacturer. These products are distinguished by the POWERED BY ATI logo on the product packaging. ATI software installers on ATI Installation CDs, as well as those posted on the ATI website for "BUILT BY ATI" products are NOT meant to work with POWERED BY ATI products. but the link i used to download the driver was from the powercolor website (http://www.power-color.com/drivers.htm) Anyone had the same problems? He can't recall doing anything. So it goes. I think "whatever", downloaded the latest Catalyst drivers, and try to install it, only to get the message "INF Error, Video Driver Not Found" inf error video and then "Try to set up your adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup". I tried googling for info (apparently it's a common-ish issue), but I never found anything that worked. I tried uninstalling anything ATI and then installing, to no avail. I tried uninstalling the error-listed VGA adapter from the Device Manager and then running install which didn't work. Rebooting after that also didn't work (it popped up with "New hardware found" after the reboot, but it couldn't find the proper drivers). After an unedifying series of adventures I got to http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/download/dld/spt_dld_detail.php?UID=45&kind=1 which has several drivers for my mobo. I first downloaded (obviously) the VGA driver, and tried to run setup. Unfortunately, after preparing the install, an Error message pops up saying "The system cannot detect the device, please confirm that the device is configured properly and restart the setup program." I then tried downloading the AGP upgrade, installed it, but nothing changed. I also downloaded the BIOS update, since it mentioned a VGA upgrade, but I'm uncomfortable with upgrading the BIOS if it's possible that that's not the main issue. I've tried using add

Hardware Specs ASUS CUV 4X-E, Celeron/PIII, ATX (Motherboard) Intel Pentium III 1 GHz Coppermine (CPU) Radeon 9600SE (Graphics Card) - Not sure of the "mark" of this one..PowerColor or ASUS Background Story Well, about 3 months ago, I exchanged my old and outdated GeForce 2 GTS Graphics Card with the new and better (I thought) Radeon. Being the CS-gamer I was back then, I did this in hope of increasing my FPS-count (not a lot, just a little), but was fairly disappointed when I experienced an all-time record low FPS of 5-10 (no matter what was going on).. Also, being lazy, I decided to take this as a chance to lay off the CS-scene for some time, perhaps focusing on some other aspects of gaming and general usage of the computer.. It was just now, today, that I got the craving for fragging again… After doing some reading, I realized that I was not the only one with problems regarding Counter-Strike 1.6, ATI and FPS. After some more reading, I decided to downgrade
