It doesn't happen every time, but just enough to annoy me. My internet is completely fine. Even the Diagnostics tests come back that it's working. The 2nd part to it is, when I do searches sometimes, some of the sites on the search page will redirect me to other sites with popups. I'm sure I have some malware, but I can't get rid of it. I've ran both Spybot and Malwarebytes, but the problem is still here. Little help? Internet Explorer cannot open the search page Started by NicholsonITS , Aug 25 2005 12:30 PM This topic is locked #1 NicholsonITS Posted 25 August 2005 - 12:30 PM NicholsonITS Member Member 23 posts A friend asked me to look at his computer when he found that IE would not find any web pages and no program could find it's server to update. Norton 2002 had found Bloodhound.w32.EP but could not remove it. I ran AVGFree and a virus was healed, but it was not the same one found by NAV. I then ran Norton again and it did not find any virus's either! It is possible to ping an URL and the IP address is found and packets returned with no problem. I ran Microsoft anti-spyware beta and it found just one incident of spyware and removed it. I also went into safe-mode and ran About:Buster, SmitRem; SpSeHjfix and no evident problems were found! I then installed SP2 - probably quite the wrong thing to do I suspect and this had absolutly no effect on the problem. IE looks as if it is about to find the website asked for, then it pops-up with "Internet Explorer could not open the search page". It is also not possible check for e-mail either. Please can you help me? I have attached the current log file of HJT. As the computer is a few miles away, I cannot respond immediately to any suggestions, but I'll do what I can. Many thanks in anticipation! My apologies - I posted this to the wrong forum - please redirect - thanks Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 14:21:00, on 25/08/2005 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\LEXBCES.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\LEXPPS.EXE C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgamsvr.exe C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFR
