The inline view works properly in Chrome. I've tried using Response.BinaryWrite and Response.WriteFile and it made no difference. I'm using Internet Explorer 9. Here is my code: Response.Clear(); Response.ClearHeaders(); Response.ClearContent(); Response.Buffer = true; Response.ContentType = "application/pdf"; Response.AddHeader("Pragma", "public"); Response.AddHeader("expires", "0"); Response.AddHeader("Cache-Control", "no-cache"); Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache); string filePath = Request["file"]; string signatureFile = Request["SignatureImage"]; double xPos = Convert.ToDouble(Request["X-Pos"]); double yPos = Convert.ToDouble(Request["Y-Pos"]); double scale = Convert.ToDouble(Request["Scale"]); if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(filePath)) { try { string newFile = PDFTools.SignPDF(filePath, signatureFile, xPos, yPos, scale, tempDirectory); var newFileInfo = new FileInfo(newFile); Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", string.Format("inline; filename={0}", newFileInfo.Name)); Response.AddHeader("content-length", newFileInfo.Length.ToString()); Response.TransmitFile(newFile); Response.Flush(); Response.Close(); } catch (Exception ex) { Debug.WriteLine("Error: " + ex.Message); Debug.WriteLine("at " + ex.StackTrace); } finally { Response.End(); } } Thanks for your time! c# asp.net internet-explorer pdf share|improve this question asked Aug 10 '11 at 16:37 KClough 1,32221528 Are you getting an error? –TheGeekYouNeed Aug 10 '11 at 16:42 No Error, just white screen –KClough Aug 10 '11 at 16:53 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest vo

To my knowledge the only time this should occur is when the "Adobe Reader" add-on is installed and enabled. When the user then closes the page it results in a memory error stating "the instruction at 0x5fe5cb2a referenced memory at 0x3bfe3c5c. The memory could not be read. Click OK to terminate the program, Click CANCEL to debug the program.".When the user logs into IE using their standard account, the PDF opens within Adobe Reader and not inside Internet Explorer. This results in no errors occurring and normal functionality to be expected from no add-on being installed.Is there a reason running Internet Explorer using an elevated account and not the logged in users account results in the PDF opening within Internet Explorer which ultimately results in a memory error?Any advice would be appreciated.Cheers,Allan I have the same question Show 0 Likes(0) 125Views Tags: none (add) errorContent tagged

The page contains adobe pdf files, and the script opens the pdf automatically inside the webpage/window. I have done the following, Open Internet Explorer browser.... Turn off script debugging and notifications in Internet Explorer Script error debugging and notifications are turned off by default. If they have been turned on, follow these steps to turn them off again. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button. In the search box, type Internet Explorer, and then, in the list of results, click Internet Explorer. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options. Click the Advanced tab, select the Disable script debugging Internet Explorer) and Disable script debugging (Other) check boxes. Clear the Display a notification about every script error check box, and then click OK. I have also added the sites to "Trusted", and even lowered all security settings to the minimum. And disabled Protected Mode. The problem still persists. EDIT: This error is related to Adobe Reader security protection Open Adobe Reader and go to Edit > Preferences > General. In the Application Startup panel, check or uncheck Enable Protected Mode at startup. In the registry and find this key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\Privileged] "bProtectedMode"=(0 = off; 1 = on) More information can be found at the Adobe website.
