I found this page kept displaying on our computers other 'user accounts'. It was ok on the main administrators account where I originally installed IE7. We are on Ntl Broadband and have Netguard Anti-virus. To fix this error........ >individually go into each 'users account'. >disable Anti-virus, firewalls, add-blockers and pop-up blockers and parental controls, and exit the anti virus . >click on Internet explorer 7 iconand instead taking you to the irritating Blue screen it will show 'connecting' and will take you to "windows live toolbar customisation wizard" > the box will show "windows live toolbar set up" > click "next" > select >go through the options checking the boxes you require > click "finish" > screen will show --- connecting > it will take you to Microsoft phishing filter - select if you want it on or off (I recommend ON) > select ok - you will see "THANKS FOR INSTALLING WINDOWS LIVE TOOLBAR" > exit (click on X top right corner) This takes you to another page > scroll down and fill in the settings > click save settings at the bottom >it will show "Settings sucesully saved" > Click on 'Go to home page' Voila! REMEMBER TO RE-SET your Anti Virus, and pop-up blockers etc before you browse the net! Once right clicked, choose open in new window or new tab. The target should open correctly. Customize the page as you want it and save changes. Close all IE windows and click IE7, your home page should open correctly. Mike Sunday, November 26, 2006 9:06 PM 0 Sign in to vote Many thanks - this worked for me too. first run welcome page "http://runonce.msn.com/runonce2.aspx" and you need to select your customization settings and then click on "Save your settings" button. This page will be displayed each time you open IE7 until you complete the customization wizard and save your settings. Sometimes people face problems as given below: The Runonce page is displayed every time even you have completed the customization process. A blank page appears even you have selected some other page as your Homepage. An "Error on page" appears with a plain blue color page. https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/91c92a44-1baf-48c3-bae2-12ed926d5639/internet-explorer-7-runonce-page-keeps-displaying?forum=itprovistaie "Save your settings" button doesn't work and shows following error: Line 56 Char:2 Error: Element not found Code: 0 URL: http://runonce.msn.com/runonce2aspx IE7 shows following error upon startup: Server Error in '/' Application. The resource cannot be found. Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review http://www.askvg.com/how-to-fix-internet-explorer-7-ie7-stuck-at-annoying-first-run-welcome-page-httprunoncemsncomrunonce2aspx/ the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly. Requested URL: /runonce2.aspx All above mentioned problems occur if the Welcome page in IE7 is not loaded correctly or if it opens with restricted security settings. If you are also facing this problem, then follow these simple steps and your problem will be solved: 1. Type regedit in RUN dialog box and press Enter. It'll open Registry Editor. Now go to following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main 2. In right-side pane, look for following 2 DWORDs: RunOnceComplete RunOnceHasShown 3. Make sure both have their values set to 1. If any or both of them are set to 0, then change the value to 1 4. That's it. Exit registry editor and start Internet Explorer. Now it'll not show the welcome page and will directly go to your Homepage. NOTE: If you don't want to edit registry manually and want a ready-made file to do this task, then download following ZIP file, extract it and then run the extracted REG file: Download Registry Script to Fix IE7 First Run Page Problem Share this article: Facebook | Twitter | Google+ | Reddit | Tell a frien

has been displayed instead of the three home pages I specified in Tools - Internet Options. I had completed the whole customization processs many times, but Internet Explorer never seemed to remember the settings. I found this thread that pointed me in the right direction for fixing this problem. To fix the problem, edit the following registry keys, or create them if they do not exist: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main] "RunOnceComplete"=dword:00000001 "RunOnceHasShown"=dword:00000001 Once I made the registry changes and restarted IE, all was good. My home page opened up as expected. This site also has five different ways of deploying this change, from scripts to a small executable file.
