Ie11 Error 40007
deploying Internet Explorer 11 using either the pre-built Internet Explorer 11 internet explorer 11 log file package available from the Package Library or a custom deployment. Resolution: Error 40008 (USER_ERROR_IE_GREATERVERSION_INSTALLED) indicates the version

greater than the version you are attempting to install is already installed on the target. Error 40008 occurs if a machine already has IE11 installed with a internet explorer 11 logging version greater than that being deployed. Since the offline installer for IE 11 available in PDQ Deploy is the latest offline deployment release version (version 11.0.0.1 for Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit) published on 6/6/2014 by Microsoft, any version downloaded, installed, and updated since 6/6/2014 might be a higher version number than the IE11 included in internet explorer log file PDQ Deploy’s Package Library resulting in an error 40008. To resolve this error, do not deploy IE11 to machines that already have IE11 installed. Instead, utilizing PDQ Inventory, create a Dynamic Collection for IE11 candidate machines. For more information on how to do this, please see the knowledge-base article addressing the creation of that Dynamic Collection located here: http://support.adminarsenal.com/entries/98660308. Alternatively, create an IE deployment using the IEAK. Instructions for how to do that are located in the links below. So here I am, with the terrible "9C48 code: windows update has encountered an unknown error" (sorry for the approximate translation...). The update I'm trying to install is "Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for processor x64 computers" (58,4 Mo). Although I already internet explorer 11 use Internet explorer 11.0.9600.17280, there's still, according to Windows update, an update to do but which fails every time I try. I run a fresh clean new install (just formatted my computer), tried WindowsUpdateDiagnostic, Microsoft Fix it, System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) and SFC Scan. Enclosed the CBS.zip, though there are several "CbsPersist_2014xxxxxxxxxx.zip" I had to delete as the file was too big to upload :-/ As my friend Georges would say, what else? Thanks for your help ! Please post the C:\Windows\windowsupdate.log file, and we'll se what that has to say. My System Specs

Microsoft have not made it easy! In their environment they need to:1. Install 5 prerequisite patches2. Reboot3. Install IE 114. reboot5. Install 4 patches6. RebootLike • Show 0 Likes0 Actions lza @ null on Dec 17, 2014 10:41 AMMark CorrectCorrect AnswerI wrote a package to do something similar. After the IE11 install, the package installs one cumulative patch (the latest at the time of the creation). No reboot needed in between.I install directly the IE11 exe, without customization.Like • Show 1 Like1 Actions Ratfink Dec 17, 2014 1:56 PMMark Corre
