This is a rudimentary thing I have overlooked once too often. Did you enable IE event logging as described in http://www.windowsnetworking.com/kbase/WindowsTips/Windows7/AdminTips/Miscellaneous/EnablingeventloggingforInternetExplorer.html ? If not, you'll want to add the registry entry and then restart the "Windows Event Log" service. and start a completely new IE session. Restart-Service eventlog Get-Service eventlog You may also want to look at the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit (see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb250493(v=VS.85).aspx) to help you granularly enable and disable logging for different parts of IE. Hope this helps. share|improve this answer answered Nov 29 '14 at 7:38 DTK 1463 3 Sorry for Dumb question. but just to inform you that there is no active filters, there is no such registry setting as described in link, still i have make that registry key and done the same, but no positive result. –Param Nov 29 '14 at 7:43 I appologize, I didn't mean to suggest your question was dumb. I will rewrite mine to indicate that. I meant to suggest my question about filters was du

However, Internet Explorer crashes can have a variety of other causes, including incompatibilities with hardware rendering and possible malware. We have also covered ways to troubleshoot crashes internet explorer with Google Chrome and issues with Firefox. The steps are remarkably similar for each browser, although how you go about performing them varies wildly between browsers. Run Internet Explorer Without Add-Ons Crashes are normally caused by buggy toolbars or other browser add-ons. You can check if add-ons are the problem by running Internet Explorer without add-ons. To do so, open the Start menu and launch the All Programs > Accessories internet explorer 9 > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons) shortcut. On Windows 8, press the Windows key, type iexplore.exe -extoff at the Start screen, and press Enter. Internet Explorer will open without loading any add-ons. Try using it without add-ons – if no crashes occur, a buggy add-on is causing the crash. If crashes continue to occur, you have another problem. Disable Browser Add-Ons If running Internet Explorer with no browser add-ons fixed your problem, you can disable the add-ons one by one to identify the one causing the problem. Click the gear menu and select Manage add-ons to open the Manage Add-ons window. Select an add-on in the Toolbars and Extensions category and click the Disable button to disable it. Disable add-ons one by one – or disable them all and enable them one by one – until you identify the add-on causing the problem. If you don’t need the add-ons, feel free to leave them disabled. Reset Internet Explorer Settings You can reset Internet Explorer’s browser settings to the defaults, which can help solve a variety of browser problems. First, open the Internet Options window from the gear menu. Select the Advanced tab and click the Reset button to reset your browser settings. You will have the abi

To switch from the metro version of IE 10 to the desktop version, click on the Settings button in the browser and choose the 'View on the desktop' menu item. JavaScript error reporting is a bit different in Internet Explorer 9 and 10 compared to previous Internet Explorer browsers since, by default, the Status bar is not visible and depending on your settings this might be the only place that would indicate if there was an error on the page. You can turn on the Status bar either through the menu system by pressing Alt on your keyboard to show the menu bar and then navigating to the View, Toolbars, Status bar menu item. Another approach to showing the Status bar is to right-click on title/tab area and choose the Status bar option from the context menu. JavaScript Errors on the Status Bar Getting errors to show via the status bar seems to be hit and miss because sometimes it works for me and sometimes it doesn't. It is my guess that Microsoft intends to remove the status bar error log functionality altogether and that it is simply an oversight (bug) that lets us view the error log in the first place. In my testing if you start the browser normally the Status bar behavior I'm about to describe will not work. If you launch IE from a pinned site, however, this Status bar behavior usually works. To pin a site, drag the icon that is on the address bar to the Windows taskbar. (click to view the image full size) In your Advanced settings, if you have the 'Display a notification about every script error' option turned off then even if you have the status bar visible, you will not know there was an error. The only hint of a JavaScript error would be if the page didn't respond properly (something didn't load for example). The following is a screen shot of a website launched from a pinned site that has thrown an error (the status bar doesn't indicate that there was an error): (click to view the image full size) If you double-click anywhere on the status bar, if there was a JavaScript error on the page, the error log will pop-up. (click to view the image full size) If you have the 'Display a notification about every script error' option turned on then you will get a bit more feedback when a JavaScript error happens on the pag
