For some reason whenever they start it up, they get an error report saying: "Cannot find 'file:///C:/Program%20Files/AOL%20Toolbar/welcome.html'. Make sure the path or Internet address is correct." I've tried everything to fix this problem but I cannot find out what is causing it. Any suggestions on how to get the computer to stop displaying that error message when it doesn't affect the Internet connection to begin with? Thanx Jun 6, 2007 #1 Tedster Techspot old timer..... Jun 19, 2007 #4 merrwal TS Rookie Yes, i have uninstalled it then did a clean reinstall and clean uninstall serveral times. I have seen this same question on several websites with the same error message and no one seems to have a solution for it. Uninstalling ie7 and reinstalling it also does not work and registry cleaning will not fix it. I have a feeling it is due to some dirty play by microsoft to discourage people from using AOL instead of MSN. Stop using that shortcut or fix it. ; } Otherwise to avoid that symptom you could Run... (e.g. press Win-R and enter) iexplore.exe -nohome Hint: click the Stop button or press Ctrl-t to get out of the NoHome state. I'm suggesting you open IE without a Home page as a test just in case your Home page is part of the problem too. Alternatively, you could use Internet Properties to make your Home page About:Blank and then just Run... iexplore.exe without any command-line switches.
