Clear Cache Ie Shortcut
the cache files of Mozilla/Firefox browsers IEHistoryView - Internet Explorer History Viewer Description IECacheView is a small utility that reads the clear ie cache command line cache folder of Internet Explorer, and displays the list of all files currently stored in the cache. For each cache file, the following information is displayed: Filename, Content Type, URL, Last Accessed Time, Last https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/183506 Modified Time, Expiration Time, Number Of Hits, File Size, Folder Name, and full path of the cache filename. You can easily save the cache information into text/html/xml file, or copy the cache table to the clipboard and then paste it to another application, like Excel or OpenOffice Spreadsheet. Advantages over the 'Temporary Internet Files' viewer of Windows IECacheView displays only the list of cache files, while the cache view http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/ie_cache_viewer.html of Windows displays a mix of cookies and cache files. IECacheView allows you to filter the cache files by file type (image, text, video, audio, or application). IECacheView allows you to view the cache files of another user or from another disk, while with the Windows viewer, you can only watch the cache of the current logged-on user. IECacheView displays some columns that are not displayed by the cache viewer of Windows: Content Type, Number of hits, Sub-folder name, and the full-path of the cached filename. With IECacheView, you can easily select the desired cache items, copy the information to the clipboard, and then paste it into Excel or OpenOffice Spreadsheet. System Requirements This utility works with all version of Windows, from Windows 98 to Windows 8, with Internet Explorer 6.0 - 11.0 Search for other utilities in NirSoft Versions History Version 1.58: Fixed another bug with 'Error -1:Unknown Error!' message randomly appeared on Windows 7/x64/IE11 systems. Version 1.57: Fixed bug: On some systems with IE11, IECacheView displayed 'Error -1:Unknown Error!' message and failed to load the cache information. Version 1.56: When using the 'Open Selected File With' option, the 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file' check-box is now turned
Windows 8, Internet Explorer utilized files named Index.dat for indexing the Cache, Cookies and History information. Beginning with Windows 8, Index.dat http://www.aandrc.com/purgeie/errcache.htm files are not used. The indexing functions are implemented within a Microsoft database system. The programming interface routines used to access the Index.dat files now function for the database https://forums.pcpitstop.com/index.php?/topic/155093-fix-internet-explorer-cache-overflow-the-easy-way/ system. The default structure for the Primary I.E. Folders below is used in Windows 8 except for not containing the Index.dat files. There are a lot of entries internet explorer in Google "Groups" (newsgroups) advising Internet Explorer users to boot to DOS and to run "DelTree.exe" to delete the various I. E. folders. This advice has been given for a variety of problems that fall into what is generally referred to as 'Corrupted Cache'. In many instances the givers of the advice do not account for the great clear cache internet number or variations in the directory structure used for the I. E. folders. For many, the folders they are advised to delete do not exist on their system. Problems using DelTree Many new computer users are not familiar with DOS and enter into a state of fear when told that they must 'boot to DOS' and enter commands. Theoretically, DOS does not exist on the Win-ME system or the newer Windows systems. DOS can not access the NTFS disks that are an option when running NT-4 or Windows-2000. Deltree.exe is not distributed with NT-4 or Windows-2000 systems. One would need to use the 'RD' command instead. The Primary I.E. Folders and the Index.Dat Files Each of I.E.'s primary folders (directories) - Cache, Cookies and History make use of an indexing technique to maintain information. The index information is contained in files named Index.dat. For Cookies and for Cache, the Index.dat files are basically pointers to real files. For History, no files are referenced (this is the collection of URL entries used for

Fix Internet explorer Cache overflow the easy way Started by McRuck , Mar 25 2008 12:25 AM Please log in to reply 11 replies to this topic #1 McRuck McRuck New Member Members 2 posts Posted 25 March 2008 - 12:25 AM To fix the internet explorer cache overflow all you need to do is the following: open internet options and change the location of your temporary internet files folder to an empty partition or ideally to an empty flash drive. windows will log you out momentarilly to complete the move. when you log back in open disk management and select the partition or flash drive where your temporary internet files folder is now located and select format. a warning will appear that the disk is in use but you will have the option to force the format action. Do so and close disk management . now open explorer and IE will recreate a new temporary internet file folder in its default c: location with no more overflow to worry about. done and done. beats the hell out of the tedious steps given by microsoft. If anyone needs i can include a step by step with pics but i didn't want to load up the server if this was clear enough. Back to top #2 el kido el kido yes!
