You aren't trying to run files, just browsing the folders? Can these folders be viewed from the command prompt? In other words, can you go to the run command, type command, and then navigate to the folders and get the list using the dir command? I'm guessing you are completely malware free? Have you checked your running processes? Is windows trying to generate thumbnails of these media files incorrectly? I believe thumbs can be turned off globally, but I don't know the method right off. So i would say that i am free of any malware, yes. Its funny you say that about the thumbs. Right after reading your post i went to the folder in question and my explorer.exe crashed (the view was on thumbs). then i went to a command promt and browsed there fine. then when i browsed there again (in windows explorer) my view was automatically changed to tiles. and it wasnt crashing anymore. then
