I need to disable this error reporting as it http://www.theeldergeek.com/manage_internet_explorer_error_reporting.htm is reporting misinformation of a site that I go to frequently. It blocks me out of it. I already know that it's not my anti=virus software which is Bitdefender 2010. I have the internet toolbar disabled. Is there a way to disable this error reporting in IE8? Here is the message I get when I go to the webpage. To disable the URL Error Redirection, go to the option page of your toolbar. Click Start, Run 2. In the Open box type the command regedit and click OK to launch the publisher of the registry 3. Go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Main 4. For this key, locate the entry DWORD named IEWatsonDisabled. If it does not you can create as follows: * menu Edition Pull down the Edit menu * Click New, DWORD Value, type the name of the new DWORD value (IEWatsonDisabled) 5. Double-click DWORD Value IEWatsonDisabled. and set its value to 0 (in the field Value data) 6. Create a second DWORD value as described in step 4 (steps 4-1 and 4-2), the IEWatsonEnabled name (if it does not already exist). Put the value 0 in the field Value data 7. The changes are taken into account immediately, and error reports IE will no longer be sent to Microsoft engineers. Logged " All generalizations are false, including this one. contents of this article still apply to IE 10 but only when using the desktop version. To switch from the metro version of IE 10 to the desktop version, http://cggallant.blogspot.com/2011/03/viewing-javascript-errors-in-internet.html click on the Settings button in the browser and choose the 'View on the desktop' menu item. JavaScript error reporting is a bit different in Internet Explorer 9 and 10 compared to previous Internet Explorer http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/194181-windows-error-reporting-disable-windows.html browsers since, by default, the Status bar is not visible and depending on your settings this might be the only place that would indicate if there was an error on the page. You can internet explorer turn on the Status bar either through the menu system by pressing Alt on your keyboard to show the menu bar and then navigating to the View, Toolbars, Status bar menu item. Another approach to showing the Status bar is to right-click on title/tab area and choose the Status bar option from the context menu. JavaScript Errors on the Status Bar Getting errors to show via the status internet explorer enable bar seems to be hit and miss because sometimes it works for me and sometimes it doesn't. It is my guess that Microsoft intends to remove the status bar error log functionality altogether and that it is simply an oversight (bug) that lets us view the error log in the first place. In my testing if you start the browser normally the Status bar behavior I'm about to describe will not work. If you launch IE from a pinned site, however, this Status bar behavior usually works. To pin a site, drag the icon that is on the address bar to the Windows taskbar. (click to view the image full size) In your Advanced settings, if you have the 'Display a notification about every script error' option turned off then even if you have the status bar visible, you will not know there was an error. The only hint of a JavaScript error would be if the page didn't respond properly (something didn't load for example). The following is a screen shot of a website launched from a pinned site that has thrown an error (the status bar doesn't indicate that there was an error): (click to view the image full size) If yo
