"Error:153 Unspecified Error" With Internet Explorer 6 … No of visitors who read this post: 2693 Category: Sun Java Web Server Type: Question Author: Steven Shaw Your rating: Select ratingCancel ratingPoorOkayGoodGreatAwesome No votes yet Howdy, I might have a serious javascript problem. i made a long and complex script on a page based on the framework of Mootools, in Firefox and other browser everything works fine, but when I try it in Internet Explorer 6 and 7 and I get "Error:153 Unspecified error" (sometimes 84) and the strange thing is in Internet Explorer 8, the error shows "Object doesn't support this property or method". Do anyone have a list of Internet Explorer unsupported property or method? Or anybody out there who might know the cause of the problem? IE8 has a proper source, which includes script lines, so you should quickly be able to find the source of your error. share|improve this answer answered Jun 12 '09 at 9:13 peirix 14.5k1669110 yes that's right. But i have minimized js, i will try to use unminimized version. –d3vilkiss Jun 12 '09 at 9:41 add a comment| up vote 2 down vote If the script you're using isn't obfuscated or all on one line, you could use the JavaScript debugger in IE8 to pinpoint the object which is causing the error. Press F12 to open the Developer Tools, go to the Script tab, and click the "Start Debugging" option. If there's an error it may well break on the relevant line. If not you can set some breakpoints and step through the code. share|improve this answer answered Jun 12 '09 at 9:15 Graham Clark 10.3k73269 add a comment| up vote 1 down vote You can also use IE8 developer tools http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2008/09/03/developer-tools-in-internet-explorer-8-beta-2.aspx to debug. For other version I suggest you use Web developer tool bar which is similar to we

IE8 only partially supports HTML5, getElementsByClassName is not supported as you can see here: http://caniuse.com/#search=getelementsbyclassname. I've made a patch for this. When getElementsByClassName is available, the script will use that, otherwise it will use the fallback document.querySelectorAll('.wp-editor-wrap'); Last edited 4 years ago by dannydehaan (previous) (diff) #4 @SergeyBiryukov 4 years ago Keywords has-patch added @CoenJacobs 4 years ago Attachment 22053-2.diff added Fixed dannydehaan's patch, getElementByClassName should be getElementsByClassName #5 @dannydehaan 4 years ago Keywords needs-testing added @SergeyBiryukov 4 years ago Attachment 22053.3.diff added With proper formatting #6 @SergeyBiryukov 4 years ago Summary ch
