Internet Explorer Invalid Syntax Error Discussion in 'Malware Removal' started by lizdavis77, Dec 19, 2004. lizdavis77 Private E-2 When I log on to my home computer using my login i.d. and then open Intenet Explorer, it takes me to my homepage (Google) for a split second, and then flashes to a page that says "Invalid Syntax Error," and the url changes to "http:///". It will not let me change the url, and no pages will open. However, when I log onto the same computer using my husband's login i.d., everything works fine. I have run AdAware, Spybot, CWShredder, and a virus scan, and nothing is coming up.
