Internet Explorer Kernel32 Error
explorer stopped working and kernel32.dll Discussion in 'Software' started by jannie3, Apr 28, 2014. jannie3 Private E-2 Hi everyone. Im new to majorgeeks and hope one of you clever folk can assist me with this problem. I am continually getting Internet Explorer has stopped working and when checked for solutions advised non available. This is happened 100s of times in last the few weeks. Im also getting only part of a webpage displayed on many websites (including this one)and unable to display the page error. This comes and goes as Im reading the page. The globe icon appears in the error crossed out with a red cross and the page error states retype address go back to previous page, likely causes not connected to internet, website encountering problems. As its stopping me doing much on the PC I looked up how to do an event viewer, checked that, and it says that the type of error is APPCRASH iexplore.exe. The source name in the event view is App Hang and says the fault module name is kernel32.dll version 6.0.6002.18449. Any ideas of how I can fix it? jannie3, Apr 28, 2014 #1 mdonah Major Geek Extraordinaire jannie3 said: ↑ Hi everyone. On a Win ME system, when I start Internet Explorer, I get a message internet explorer "lexplore has caused error in kernel32.dll", and Internel Explorer shuts down. I tried the following: -Updated IE to IE6 Update 1. Problem persists. -Ran SpyBot S&D and AVG Anti-Virus, both with latest definitions. Found and removed viruses. Problem persists. -Tried searching for lexplore - can't find it. My impresession is that lexplore is a virus, but internet explorer kernel32 I'm not sure, and I can't find it or remove it. Am I right? Is there a way to get rid of it? Also, I want to do a Windows Update on the system, but can't do so because Internet Explorer isn't working. Is there a way to do a Windows Update *without* using Internet explorer (I have other Windows ME systems that are working). Many different software programs may generate the kernel32.dll error in Windows but here are some of the more common specific error messages you may see:"Explorer caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.DLL""Iexplore caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.DLL" "Commgr32 caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.dll""Error in Kernel32.dll""[PROGRAM NAME] has caused an error in Kernel32.dll"Kernel32.dll error messages may appear when Windows starts, when a program is opened, when a program is running, when a program is closed or at nearly any time during a session of Windows.Cause of Kernel32.dll ErrorsThe causes of the kernel32.dll error message are as varied as the messages themselves. The kernel32.dll file is involved with memory management in Windows. When Windows is started, kernel32.dll is loaded into a protected memory space so other programs don't attempt to use the same space in memory to run their operations. The frequently accompanying "invalid page fault" error means that another program (or many programs) are trying to access this same space in your computer's memory.Don't Want to Fix This Yourself? If you want to fix this kernel32.dll problem yourself, continue with the troubleshooting in the next section.
