It could be as simple as needing a new driver for your drive. You can go to the manufacturers website, download and install the latest. Don't rely on the Windows drivers in XP.If you're trying to create DVD-Video, you need the DVD-Video plug-in. I don't know if you can still get it. You would have to ask Nero. You can ask them at Online chat or by e-mail. If you get a resolution, please let us know what it is. Further it could be problem with the memory cache. For your better information I enclose a new log file about this project.Thank you for your help! Optional: DVD-Video plug-in to enable DVD recoding and DVD9 to DVD5 feature.I don't know if DVD9 to DVD 5 means changing from 9 to 5 or whether you need it to Burn DVD 9..There are at least two errors of note. The first one says it could not copy the file from you

I've managed to back up a large proportion of my DVD's (at lease 30 done already) and have never had any problems - until now that is. I'm trying to back up Pirates of the Caribbean (r2), but keep getting the following message while DVD Decrypter is decrypting the disc: ---------------- I/O Error! Device: [1:0:0]_NEC DVD_RW ND-2510A 2.54 (D (ATA) ScsiStatus: 0x02 Interpretation: Check Condition CDB: 28 00 00 0C EF C0 00 00 01 00 Interpretation: Read (10) - Sector: 847808 Sense Area: F0 00 03 00 0C EF C0 http://forum.my.nero.com/index.php?showtopic=4987 0A 00 00 00 00 11 00 00 00 00 00 Interpretation: Unrecovered Read Error ---------------- Having looked around, the consensus for this error seems to be that the disc is most probably damaged/dirty. However, this is highly unlikely in this case, as not only is the disc immaculate, but it plays perfectly on my home DVD players, as well as on the DVD drive that DVD Decrypt is reading from. Basically, has anyone else had a similar problem with Decrypter, and is there any established explanation for http://forums.afterdawn.com/threads/i-o-error-with-dvd-decrypter-help.331057/ why this is happening? muttman, Dec 30, 2004 #1 tarmac Member Joined: Jan 11, 2005 Messages: 14 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 11 I just received the same error! I was just trying to backup using DVD Decryptor, and I got to 92% ripped to the hard drive. I/O error! I read that if you ASPI is not correct, DVD Decryptor will not work properly. Do you know if this could be reason for this error? tarmac, Jan 11, 2005 #2 rahxephan Member Joined: Nov 28, 2004 Messages: 8 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 11 I am getting the same error as well. It rips through 98% and then gives me the error. Can anyone address this issue? I also noticed as I am ripping, my buffer is exhausted and only goes up 1-2% before it goes back to zero. Also my read time varies from 1.4x to 2.5x or something to that regards? Can anyone give me insights to my wrong doings? thanks -nghia rahxephan, Jan 12, 2005 #3 laddyboy Regular member Joined: Jan 4, 2005 Messages: 4,188 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 46 Are you using the newest version of decrypt

Decryption problems/new copy protections Since development of DVD Shrink has been stopped in 2005 it cannot circumvent current copy protections schemes which may manifest in these errors/error messages: Movie playback starts in between or at the end and/or chapters do not playback in order Invalid File Structure Invalid Navigation Structure Out of memory Programming error - Exception occurred Parameter Incorrect Data Redundancy Check Error (CRC Error) The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error To remove such protections do a complete backup of such media to your HDD with (use Google): DVDFab HD Decrypter (free trial) AnyDVD (free trial) and then use Shrink to encode it as usual. Problems with Nero First of all DVD Shrink is a transcoder to shrink movie DVDs, using the Nero engine for automatic burning is just a bonus. Having said that, DVD Shrink works under Vista but Nero only from version 7.x and higher. If you insist on using bloatware but can't get it to work, uninstall both Shrink and Nero and reinstall (not just copy over exes!) Nero before DVD Shrink. After that make sure that Edit > Preferences > File I/O > Enable burning with Nero is checked. If that still doesn't work as well as nothing on this list use free Imgburn which is an advancement of the DVD Decrypter burning engine and uses the same command set. Therefore if want to keep automatic burning and have DVD Decrypter installed on your machine you can copy over 'ImgBurn.exe' and rename it to 'DVDDecrypter.exe' so Shrink uses it with 'ISO Image File and burn with DVD Decrypter' selected as your backup target. Alternatively use the hacked DVD Shrink with ImgBurn. Of course you can also simply output to ISOs and manually add them to ImgBurn's queue. In case your HDD is still formatted with FAT32 instead of NTFS, DVD Shrink will bypass the 4 GB filesize limit automatically by outputting to multipart ISO (.i00, .i01, .i02, .mds) which mds can be burned with ImgBurn. Batch encoding/autoplay/command line Aparently DVD Shrink does not support command line parameters except for opening a DVD so if you wanna use
