Dd Wrt Static Ip Address
2007 16:54 Post subject: Issues with video game consoles (Xbox 360, Wii) + dd wrt ip address reservation solutions Just for some background, I'm running v24 RC4 on a Buffalo WHR-G54S. The main point of my post is

to report two issues: 1. The Xbox 360 reports an open NAT when using UPnP only with DHCP enabled instead of a static IP. Also, Xbox 360 entries are not cleared from the UPnP dd wrt change ip address list after the system is shut down or the router is rebooted, it must be done manually. 2. The Wii's wireless only functions with wireless set to channel 1. I figured I'd share my experiences if anyone else is having problems: Xbox 360 reports Moderate/Strict NAT or has trouble connecting to other players Solutions: A. Set your Xbox 360 to Automatic for network settings. Enable UPnP on dd wrt block ip address DD-WRT. The Xbox 360 should now report the NAT as open. In my experience, the only way this will work is if the Xbox is set to use DHCP. Setting the system to manual (static) IP settings results in the NAT going back to moderate. B. Assign the Xbox 360 a static IP. Put this IP in the DMZ of the router and enable the DMZ. Note: I've found that this randomly stops working and begins to report strict after sometime. The only way I could fix it was resetting my router to stock settings and manually redoing everything. I believe the issue is related to UPnP. Once another 360 is plugged in using DHCP, it makes UPnP entries which interfere with the system in the DMZ. The best option is A, especially if you plan on ever having multiple Xboxes on the same router. The Nintendo Wii returns an error code when trying to connect to the internet Solution: 1. Set your preamble to Long in the advanced wireless settings on DD-WRT. 2. Set the wireless mode to "mixed." 3. Set your wireless channel to either 1 or 11. Try 1 first. This should be enough to get
