The network settings are as follows:'Internet' IP: XXX.YYY.ZZZ.36Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.240Default Route: XXX.YYY.ZZZ.33This all works fine, internet connectivity works, etc. But I need to add a static route to a host on another network via a different router. Here's what I'm trying to add under Advanced->Static Routes:Private: NActive: YDestination IP: AAA.BBB.CCC.2IP Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255Gateway IP: XXX.YYY.ZZZ.46Metric: 2When I hit Apply it responds "Invalid IP Subnet Mask.", although clearly it is valid for a host route (heck, it's even in the example over in that pretty blue help pane).Any idea what's going on here?Oh, the firmware is V2.0.10_1.2.17NA, a bit downrev, I may try an upgrade when I get a window. Thanks for any insights. Force (IETF)–designated private address range for use in private networks, and should be suitable in most applications. If your dmz server network has a requirement to use a different IP addressing scheme, you can make those changes by opening the LAN IP Setup menu. Under Advanced in the main menu, select LAN IP https://community.netgear.com/t5/General-WiFi-Routers/WPN824v2-quot-Invalid-IP-Subnet-Mask-quot-adding-static-route/td-p/397121 Setup. Figure 5-2 The LAN TCP/IP Setup settings are: • IP Address. This is the LAN IP address of the modem router. • IP Subnet Mask. This is the LAN subnet mask of the modem router. Combined with the IP address, the IP subnet mask allows a device to know which other addresses are local to it, and which must be reached through a gateway http://documentation.netgear.com/dg834n/enu/202-10197-02/Advanced.7.3.html or modem router. • RIP Direction. Router Information Protocol (RIP) allows a modem router to exchange routing information with other routers. The RIP Direction selection controls how the modem router sends and receives RIP packets. Both is the default setting. – When set to Both or Out Only, the modem router broadcasts its routing table periodically. – When set to Both or In Only, the modem router incorporates the RIP information that it receives. – When set to None, the modem router does not send any RIP packets and ignores any RIP packets received. • RIP Version. This controls the format and the broadcasting method of the RIP packets that the modem router sends. It recognizes both formats when receiving. By default, this is set forRIP-1. – RIP-1. This version is universally supported. RIP-1 is probably adequate for most networks, unless you have an unusual network setup. – RIP-2. This version carries more information. Both RIP-2B and RIP-2M send the routing data in RIP-2 format. • RIP-2B. This version uses subnet broadcasting. • RIP-2M. This version uses multicasting. • Access Router Management Interface on additional port. When NAT i
