(This is for Minecraft, if server ip address cannot be router's lan ip address you were wondering)Some back story: I have TWC as my ISP. I have port-forwarded before, but

then I moved and things changed a bit, so I know its possible. I have an Arris modem, with a Lynksis router. I can access

both.My router's ip is 192.168.1.x, and my modem's ip is 192.168.0.x. I don't know the way to get the ports forwarded (port 25565) through both the router AND the modem. Do you only have to forward one? My computer has a static http://boards.portforward.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2136 ip, 192.168.1.23, and it is forwarded on my router. The only problem is that my modem's ip is not the same. I just cannot seem to figure out how to set the ips in such a way that one doesn't cancel the other out and lose internet. If anybody knows how to fix this, any help would be super appreciated! If you need more information, I can give it to you. I really need some help.Thank you!Sam. 4 answers Last reply Dec 16, 2014 http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2428020/port-forwarding-question-issues.html Best Answer Dec 16, 2014 More about port forwarding question issues Someone SomewhereDec 16, 2014, 7:50 PM It sounds like you've got double NAT - the Arris is likely a combined modem-router.What you probably need to do is forward the ports from the Arris to the Linksys (find out the WAN IP of the Linksys; should be 192.168.0.x, then set that as the destination in the Arris's), then forward them from the linksys to your PC (destination 192.168.1.23 in the Linksys config).Or you could set the Linksys to be just a wireless access point and use the Arris for all the routing. Someone Somewhere,I've tried what you've said. Do you mean that I must port-forward my 192.168.1.1 (router's IP) on my modem (192.168.0.1)? (ie, add 192.168.1.1 to my port-forward list on my modem's config?) I tried to do this, but is says, "invalid ip address. invalid network address". Another interesting bit, My modem
My BukkitDev ProfileMy Plugins (3) /me sighs. It seems like I can only port forward my internal IP address (192.168.0.10). So dumb. I'm running a Cisco DPC3825 router. For some reason, even https://bukkit.org/threads/need-some-portforwarding-help-d-please.81405/ if I port forward with my internal ip address, people that aren't in my network can still connect to my Bukkit server! @DanielHeppner can confirm this. Apparently, my IPV4 address is 192.168.0.10. But when I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwKoLyojRL8 go to canyouseeme.org, it says my IP is 99.247.17.169. So I tried to port forward 192.168.0.10, and it worked. Then I tested 99.247.17.169. And this error came up: Help me please! Thanks! I think it's a bit messed up though.. the wireless keeps ballsing up every hour. ShootToMaim, 17, 2012 #3 Offline LandonTheGeek Make sure you forward you regular INTERNAL IP address. The external part of it is the one you give to your friends. Also make sure you have the internal ip static. You can do this by on the search bar typing port forward static. That will lead you to portforward.com. Also, I believe that you can't have the both option in the port forward setup. You have to do individuals. Tcp then udp. Or whatever. Reply to me if it helps or not. I have a server to! So I know a bit of forwarding issues. Isn't that the entire point of port forwarding? Do you mean they can't connect to it? Apparently, my IPV4 address is 192.168.0.10. But whe
