Connect the iPod to a PC and tell us what happens. If the iPod is unrecognized by the explorer and iTunes, it most likely means that the hard drive or the hard drive cable is damaged/broken. If the iPod is recognized by the explorer and not by iTunes try to restore the iPod via iTunes. Was this answer helpful?
