Now my odometer says 'Error' all the time. Otherwise, my 2008 Liberty runs fine.Has anyone run into this issue on a Jeep? Does anyone know why this happened? And better yet, how do you fix this?Thank you. Top #3472174 - 09/02/14 07:31 PM Re: Odometer says "Error" - 2008 Jeep Liberty [Re: Ranger1] KCJeep Registered: 06/30/11 Posts: 6421 Loc: Mahzurrah! You can try the turn-key-codes procedure to see if it will reset. If you are not familiar with it, turn the key on then back off three times within 5 seconds, just far enough to turn everything on without actually engaging the starter. The last time you turn it off it should give you codes, or in your case maybe it will reset. If that doesn't work I'd try disconnecting the battery again for over 30 minutes before reconnecting it.If that doesn't work the Liberty Forum on Jeep Forum should be able to help you. _________________________ 2004 Jeep Grand 4.0 @ 134k Pennzoil HM 10w30 w/ 1 qt 10w40Fram PH8AKIA Sedona 63k, Ford Focus 117k, Chrysler Sebring 186k, Chrysler Concorde 120k Top #3472190 - 09/02/14 07:38 PM Re: Odometer says "Error" - 2008 Jeep Liberty [Re: Ranger1] Ranger1 Registered: 02/23/09 Posts: 51 Loc: Lehigh Valley, PA KCJeep... It's free! I replaced the battery and cable ends on my wife's 2008 Liberty. Since replacing the battery she has had an http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/f225/error-message-odometer-53222/ ERROR message where the odometer reading should be. She has driven it this way for a couple thousand miles and it has not changed. Is there a way to reset this error message. She tried the key turning on and off exercise without results. Unfortunately I'm not there at the moment to try myself. Any Suggestions? That resets things like the engine light. Maybe it will fix your issue. My jeep's lights won't work correctly, my horn constantly blares, I've spent almost a hundred dollars on windshield washer fluid because those constantly spray, and it's beginning to ruin parts inside of my vehicle! today the fuze box was so hot it could have been on fire! why is this not recalled?! so many people are having this issue, and the dealership refuses to replace the part in fear of having the record of it being replaced! we have spoke to cooperate as well and nothing is being done. All it takes is the tipm freaking out causing a fire, or headlights to fail and causing an accident or death. This needs to be taken seriously! I love my jeep to death, but to take my jeep to the dealership to "fix" this issue, spend over 600 dollars to replace a melted cord and a burned out fan motor for ac/heat that could be causing these issues is a freaking joke, when the faulty tipm caused the wire to melt!!Discuss This Complaint at ForumDetailsComplaint Number:10881698Incident Date:June 30, 2016Date Added to File:June 30, 2016Description of the Complaint:While driving on june 30, 2016; the jeep goes into panic mode, lights flashing, windshield wipers working, door locks locking and unlocking, and horn sounding automatically. Vehicle is not disarming. This is the second time since feb 2015. Problem was told to be car battery. Battery replaced. Remote battery works fine, this is dangerous and the problem keeps getting reported with no action taken by jeep-chrysler for recall.Discuss This Complaint at ForumDetailsComplaint Number:10863912Incident Date:April 1, 2015Date Added to File:May 9, 2016Description of the Complaint:The contact owns a 2008 jeep liberty.
