running ASP (VBScript). The problem is not actually memory, the system has 2GB, and is running constant around 900MB, so there is plenty of physical memory. The problem is not constant, and will come and go across the site on various pages. I've microsoft vbscript compilation error 800a0400 found a couple possible causes on MS KB and in Google, but neither seem to be causing

it (excessive string length, and long database queries). The site doesn't use much in the way of a database, only for a couple small, very microsoft vbscript compilation error expected statement isolated uses, and I've checked the length of the strings and they seem to be fine. This problem is NOT happening on my dev box, only on production. The error is: Quote: Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a03e9' Out of memory [insert

page here], line 0 You can see it on http://www.careusa.org/ if you click around a bit. If you click refresh a bunch of times on a page you're getting the error on, it will eventually come up. (I noticed this because I got mad and started pressing F5 repeatedly, and voila!) If you're in IE, make sure to turn off the silly Show Friendly HTTP Error Messages thing, or you will only see a generic page cannot be displayed error. Also, perfmon is showing microsoft vbscript compilation error 800a0401 between 60 and 70 active users. This is pretty high for CARE's site, we usually average more like 10-15 syncronous users. Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated! .c Check that... now at 130 syncronous users... ilyawizard Proficient Posts: 413 3+ Months Ago http://www.kbalertz.com/kb_174634.aspx Here is the link, hope it'll be helpful. Carnix Guru Posts: 1098 3+ Months Ago yeah, I already saw that on Microsoft's KB. This error is appearing on pages that have no database connections and have no use of server objects. It's not a general memory leak due to not properly trashing connections or objects after use. I've already looked on the MS KB and done Google searches for "ASP Out of Memory", "VBscript Out of Memory", "800a03e9", "ASP Error 800a03e9", and a few other variations... and so far nothing seems to apply... .c Rabid Dog Web Master Posts: 3243Loc: South Africa 3+ Months Ago Sorry but I don't get the out of memory message. Maybe there are too many code blocks inside the pages? I remember reading somewhere that every <% %> is going to cost time. Not sure if this will help, sorry Carnix Guru Posts: 1098 3+ Months Ago No, not with the current version of ASP, that was true in older version though. Turns out it was disk fragmentation. I thought a "managed hosting" solution would take care of little things like that... heh. The hard drive where the site files were located was at around 68% fragmentation. This

For example: Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a03e9' Out of memory (some file) Line 0 These errors only happen once in a while and they keep happening for a few minutes and then the webserver must be restarting the app pool because all sessions are lost. What is a good tool for finding/diagnosing memory leaks in a classic ASP application that makes heavy use of ADO http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1943278/out-of-memory-errors-tool-for-finding-classic-asp-memory-leaks for data access and a couple of other off the shelf COM objects. Presumably any memory leaks would be from the COM object rather than the script, so a general Windows debugger or leak finder might be what I need. Any advice on what would be appropriate? Or any other thoughts on what might cause these errors? com asp-classic memory-leaks debugging share|improve this question asked Dec 21 '09 at 23:23 mike nelson 8,58873950 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote Unfortunately, tracking down memory leaks is not an easy task :-( Here's a good summary of things to watch out for here: http://www.leinadium.com/code/classic-asp-memory-leaks-in-iis/ Be sure to read the link inside that post as well for a list of tools. It allows you to take a "snapshot" at one point, exercise the application (e.g., IIS) then take another snapshot and compare the memory usage differences. share|improve this answer answered Dec 29 '09 at 15:52 Mark Wilkins 33.5k43786 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote if you try to get one row data with EOF OR BOF or the databas

It occurs on 2-3 week intervals. People http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=102884 can log into the applications but the error occurs when I click on a menu link to a list page. The error persists until I reboot the server. We are analyzing the server microsoft vbscript but http://support.microsoft.com/kb/174634 indicates that it is a scripting issue. I ran a search in this forum and the issue does not appear to have been reported. But I am reporting the issue so that I can cover all the possible bases. Try to turn on debug mode in the generated include/appsettings.asp file and reproduce this error. best regards, Jane Endaltseva e-mail: support@xlinesoft.com 0 Back to top MultiQuote Reply #5 webwork Member Group: Members Posts: 22 Joined: 01-April 07 Posted 10 August 2010 - 07:46 PM mfred, on 06 August 2010 - 11:06 AM, said:I'm not using MySQL.
