My point is that its the line in the script and not the file name following Script: The Cause of Error 800A0035 In the example above, Line 31: is the source of the error. Char 1: is not always very useful as the error could be anywhere on the line, and WSH still blames char 1. The cause of error 800A0035 is most likely to be a spelling mistake in the file, however, Geoffery unearthed a bizarre problem where his files had an extra .extension. For example instead of being info.txt, it was info.txt.txt. The Solution Before you find the root cause you may want to confirm the diagnosis by using a reference to a different file, preferably on a different drive. If that works, then revisit the name of the original script. Should you be hard-coding a path in your script, try copying and pasting from the bar in Windows Explorer. ‡ Example 1: Script to map a printer In this example, the actual file was called Input.txt.txt, thus either rename that to the more normal single .txt, else change the script! It runs monthly, and on the 1st of each month, it copies the previous month's data to an archive folder and inserts the month and year into the filename. It works if I do it on my local computer, so I'm guessing it some sort of directory permissions issue, but I tried adding "everyone" as a user and giving all permissions and it still gives the error. I noted where the error occurs in the comments. Here's my code - Dim basePath' The path where the databases areDim filePath' The path where the databases are to be deleted and copied' Never set the filePath to the root directory!Dim fileExt' The file name andextension of the file(s) to be copied' Do not remove the "\"!' All Option explicit does is force yu to Dim all of your variables. Without it, it just means that you can implicitly declare a variable by creating it. Now, vbsnewbie. You mention a self-extracting executable. WHICH self-extracting executable? The one that Primalscript lets you create, or some other one? XLS_to_CVS_Single.vbs and this is an external conversion script for MS Excel Workbooks. That does not fit together! Why are you opening a c++ file like an Excel file? So it is understandable that an error is thrown. It appears your current command line call is opening your file with our MS Excel rule. From your description, it looks like you are opening a .cpp file, which should be opening with our C++ rule. In BC3, go to Tools -> File Formats Here is a list of our file formats. The topmost format that matches on the extension is the one used automatically. If file formats have red text, it means there is another rule higher on the list that will be the one used automatically instead. If your C++ rule is red, please check your Excel rule, and make sure it is defined to only be used for Excel files (.xls, .xlsx), or set it back to defaults. I would guess your current Excel rule near the top of the list is defined to be used for all files. (just '*' or '*.*') If you are still having trouble, let us know. You can send us you
