Dreamweaver Mysql Tutorials
to let you all know that I am an amateur with Dreamweaver and especially php code. I used the tutorial on dreamweaver 8 mysql creating dynamic dropdown menus, it help a lot. With the help of a fellow employee we were able to get it working as you can see if you go to my website www.suspensiongeek.com. Look up

your car see how it works. Second, I’m not here to sell anyone anything off my site, unless you find something you do really need. Third, if this ends up long winded I’m sorry. I prefer to explain to the best of my knowledge so I don’t waste your time. Since my site is working it is obvious that it is accessing mysql server and querying the information needed dreamweaver cs4 mysql to do the look up and display it on the site. Here is where my problems begins. I want to create pages that need a login and password to access. As you know to do this the login needs to access a table in my database to gain access. This seems to be straight forward to create using the tools in dreamweaver. It requires me to set up a database link. This also seems pretty easy………except when I do this it comes up with “Mysql error 2003” I’ve done some searching on the web. I know I have the correct server address, user name and password since my site is using my own dbconfig for database connection and it is working. I’ve turned off the XP firewall and enabled all security setting in XP in an effort to get dreamweaver to make a database connection. I even tried making the connection to the localhost and then creating the pages, publishing them to the web, with the thinking I could just edit the code on those pages to point to the remote server. Of course with no luck. I need help getting past the

When I got a new computer for Christmas, the files didn't transfer over properly (using PC Mover), so I started over using PHP 5.2.0 and Apache 2.2.3. Everything went well until I tried to access PHPMySQL. I'm getting an error message that reads, " MySQL said: Documentation #2003 - Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061) ". Everything else works fine. https://forums.adobe.com/thread/186634 I've gone over all my steps and somehow I keep missing my mistake. Can anyone please tell me how to follow up on this error code? Ii have installed apache and php, works fine, mySql does not. I don't use winmysqladmin, but Error 2003 means that the MySQL server has not been started. You can start MySQL at a command prompt like this: cd c:\mysql\bin mysqld You should then be able to communicate with MySQL. -- David Powers Author, "Foundation PHP 5 for Flash" (friends of ED) Co-author "PHP Web Development with DW MX 2004" (Apress) http://computerbookshelf.com David Powers Guest April 4th,08:22 PM #4 Re: mySQL error i did this and it worked; on comd prmopt; mysqld --console after that, on new cmd screen i'm able to start usin mysql without that horrible error. but mysqld doesn't start it. khansab Guest April 4th,10:28 PM #5 Re: mySQL error khansab wrote: > i did this and it worked; > > on comd prmopt; mysqld --console > > after that, on new cmd screen i'm able to start usin mysql without that horrible error. > > but mysqld doesn't start it.
